Aims: To evaluate the role of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of BI-RADS-5 type of microcalcifications of the breast, to compare the size of the microcalcification lesions using mammography (MG) and MRI, and to determine the value of MRI in surgery for microcalcifications. The study also determines the morphology of microcalcification lesions, assesses kinetic curves and compare MRI features of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) for different histopathological grades.
Methods: Our group consisted of 32 patients with mammographically detected BI-RADS 5 microcalcifications.
Introduction: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may help identify acute stroke patients with a higher potential benefit from thrombolytic therapy. The aim of our study was to assess the correlation between initial cerebral infarct (CI) volume (quantified on diffusion-weighted MRI) and the resulting clinical outcome in acute stroke patients with middle cerebral artery (MCA) (M(1-2) segment) occlusion detected on MRI angiography treated by intravenous/intraarterial thrombolysis.
Methods: Initial infarct volume (V(DWI-I) ) was retrospectively compared with neurological deficit evaluated using the NIH stroke scale on admission and 24 h later, and with the 90-day clinical outcome assessed using the modified Rankin scale in a series of 25 consecutive CI patients.

Scapholunate interosseal ligament tears manifested with pain, a popping, weakness of the wrist, or limited wrist motion, are probably the most frequent cause of carpal instability. Insufficiency of the injured scapholunate ligament results in pathologic scaphoid and lunate position with wrist kinematics changes that cause irreversible degenerative arthrotic changes. The timely diagnosis combined with proper treatment is required for successful therapy and carpal collapse prevention.

Methods: From a group of 172 patients with AAA, in whom elective endovascular treatment was considered, 120 of them (69.8%) were found to be suitable for this type of therapy.
Multiple myeloma (MM) is a malignant disease of the haematopoietic system characterized by the formation of osteolytic foci of the skeleton with predilection of the thoracolumbar portion of the spine. The submitted investigation evaluates the importance of examination of the spine by magnetic resonance (MR), as compared with results of conventional radiology (CR). The analyzed group of 75 patients with multiple myeloma was assembled in the course of the previous four years.

Methods And Results: The mother of the first child was a strict vegetarian. She had an elevated urinary methylmalonic acid level and a low concentration of serum vitamin B12.
The authors describe their initial experience with examination of the heart by magnetic resonance (MR) and discuss its position in the diagnostic algorithm of cardiac examinations:. They made 31 MR examinations of the heart in 30 patients. Echocardiography preceded 29 examinations.
