Drift-diffusion modeling of flanker task behavior can yield separable parameters of cognitive control-related subprocesses, but the parameters' psychometrics are not well-established. We examined the reliability and validity of four behavioral measures: (1) raw accuracy, (2) reaction time (RT) interference, (3) NIH Toolbox flanker score, and (4) two drift-diffusion model (DDM) parameters-drift rate and boundary separation-capturing evidence accumulation efficiency and speed-accuracy trade-off, respectively.

Methods: This trial compared investigational hand therapy intervention (Investigational) compared with a traditional occupational therapy approach (Traditional) to prevent CIPN in patients with pancreatic cancer receiving gemcitabine and albumin-bound paclitaxel containing regimens.

Here we present a method to generate in vitro-derived satellite cells (idSCs) from skeletal muscle tissue. When transplanted in small numbers into mouse muscle, mouse idSCs fuse into myofibers, repopulate the satellite cell niche, self-renew, support multiple rounds of muscle regeneration and improve force production on par with freshly isolated satellite cells in damaged skeletal muscle.

This systematic review and meta-analysis delved into the impact of race and ethnicity on outcomes following foot and ankle surgery, an area garnering increasing attention within the medical community. Despite significant literature on postsurgical clinical and functional outcomes, limited research has explored the influence of racial and ethnic factors on postoperative outcomes. In this study, data from 33 relevant studies, involving a total of 557,734 patients, were analyzed to assess outcomes across different racial and ethnic groups.

The effects of family support and smartphone-derived homestay on daily mood and depression among sexual and gender minority adolescents.

Sexual and gender minority (SGM) adolescents are at elevated risk for depression. This risk is especially pronounced among adolescents whose home environment is unsupportive or nonaffirming, as these adolescents may face familial rejection due to their identity. Therefore, it is critical to better understand the mechanisms underlying this risk by probing temporally sensitive associations between negative mood and time spent in potentially hostile home environments.

Reported Impact of COVID-19 Workload and Stressors on School Nurses' Provision of Care During the 2021-2022 School Year: A Secondary Analysis of U.S. School Nurse Survey Data.

Many school nurses experienced increased work burden and stress during the COVID-19 pandemic. This analysis examined data from a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cross-sectional, nationwide survey of school nurses in March 2022 to examine associations between school nurses' ability to conduct their core responsibilities and selected nurse and school factors among school nurses during the 2021-2022 school year and COVID-19 pandemic. Perceived adequate staffing and financial compensation reduced the odds of reported difficulties across all core school nursing tasks.

The ability to accurately identify and interpret others' emotions is critical for social and emotional functioning during adolescence. Indeed, previous research has identified that laboratory-based indices of facial emotion recognition and engagement with emotional faces predict adolescent mood states. Whether socioemotional information processing relates to real-world affective dynamics using an ecologically sensitive approach, however, has rarely been assessed.

We investigate associations between normal-appearing white matter microstructural integrity in cognitively normal ∼70-year-olds and concurrently measured brain health and cognition, demographics, genetics and life course cardiovascular health. Participants born in the same week in March 1946 (British 1946 birth cohort) underwent PET-MRI around age 70. Mean standardized normal-appearing white matter integrity metrics (fractional anisotropy, mean diffusivity, neurite density index and orientation dispersion index) were derived from diffusion MRI.

Revisiting Ebola Virus Disease infection control protocols at an academic level I trauma center: Successes, challenges, and ways ahead.

In the decade since the largest Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in history, hospitals within the United States have discovered deficiencies in EVD infection control protocols. A large academic level I trauma medical center and frontline EVD receiving hospital in northeast Florida conducted a large-scale review and revision of the facility's EVD infection control protocols to increase preparedness. The revision process revealed opportunities for improvement and highlighted the need for excellent resource management and interdepartmental communication.

As Centiloids were created using PET/computerized tomography (CT) data and are influenced by scanner differences, we investigated the Centiloid transformation with data from Insight 46 acquired with PET/magnetic resonanceimaging (MRI).

Methods: We transformed standardized uptake value ratios (SUVRs) from 432 florbetapir PET/MRI scans processed using whole cerebellum (WC) and white matter (WM) references, with and without partial volume correction.

Aging is a complex process involving transcriptomic changes associated with deterioration across multiple tissues and organs, including the brain. Recent studies using heterochronic parabiosis have shown that various aspects of aging-associated decline are modifiable or even reversible. To better understand how this occurs, we performed single-cell transcriptomic profiling of young and old mouse brains after parabiosis.

Investigating Patient Experience, Satisfaction, and Trust in an Integrated Virtual Care (IVC) Model: A Cross-Sectional Survey.

To improve access to primary care in underserved communities, we established a hybrid model of delivering team-based, comprehensive primary care using both in-person and virtual care options with family physician leadership. Using a cross-sectional online survey (n = 121), results showed high levels (90%) of patient satisfaction. Our findings suggest that a similar hybrid model for primary care delivery can provide levels of patient satisfaction comparable to traditional in-person models of primary care.

For species that are vulnerable to anthropogenic land-use practices, differential mortality among sexes may also skew sex ratios.
