Diverse proportion in composite pheochromocytoma-ganglioneuroma may induce varied clinical symptom: comparison of two cases.

Composite pheochromocytoma-ganglioneuroma is extremely rare. We described two cases of composite pheochromocytomas in the adrenal medullar. Case 1 was a 70-year-old male presenting with lower abdominal pain and normal blood electrolytes.

A large inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor involving both stomach and spleen: A case report and review of the literature.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a rare, benign neoplasm that most commonly occurs in pediatric patients; it has been described as a pseudosarcomatous proliferation of spindled myofibroblasts mixed with lymphoplasmacytic cells. IMT has been reported in a number of locations throughout the body; however, cases occurring in the gastrointestinal tract are rare and to date, no case involving both the stomach and spleen has been reported. The current study presents a case of an extremely large IMT invading both the stomach and spleen in a 50-year-old female, presenting with a three-month history of left-sided abdominal distension without abdominal pain, fever or vomiting.

Mucinous metaplasia in urothelial tract may be the precancerous lesion of mucinous adenocarcinoma: report of two cases and review of literature.

Primary mucinous lesions of the urinary system are extremely rare. We describe two cases of primary mucinous lesions of the urothelial tract. One case is of mucinous metaplasia in the bladder of a 40-year-old man presenting with frequent urination, urgency, and gross hematuria.

[Detection and clinicopathologic significance of microsatellite alteration and p53 mutation of neuroendocrine cells in colorectal adenocarcinoma].

Objective: To study the possible clonal origin of neuroendocrine cells in colorectal adenocarcinoma.

Methods: Twenty-six microsatellite loci were screened using laser capture microdissection, DNA extraction and whole genome amplification. Microsatellite instability (MSI) and loss of heterozygosity (LOH) in adenocarcinoma cells and neuroendocrine cells amongst 30 cases of colorectal carcinoma with neuroendocrine differentiation were detected using polymerase chain reaction-single strand conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP)-silver staining.

Objective: To investigate the expression of CD147 and E-cadherin in gastric carcinoma and their correlation with clinicopathological features.

Methods: The expression of CD147 and E-cadherin in gastric cancer tissue chip (TC) was detected by in situ hybridization (ISH) and immunohistochemistry in 220 cases of gastric carcinoma and 31 cases with normal gastric mucosa.

Results: The expression rates of CD147 mRNA, E-cadherin mRNA and E-cadherin protein were 50.

[Study on the expression and significance of Galectin-3 and CDC25B mRNA in human gastric carcinoma].

Objective: To study the expression of Galectin-3 and CDC25B mRNA in gastric carcinoma and their correlation with clinical-pathological features and the survival time.

Methods: Tissue microarray (TMA) technique and in situ hybridization were used to detect the expression of Galectin-3 and CDC25B mRNA in 220 gastric carcinoma specimens and 31 normal gastric mucosa samples.

Results: In situ hybridization results revealed that from the 220 cases, the positive expression rate of Galectin-3 and CDC25B mRNA were 58.
