This study explored the risk factors associated with hydrocephalus incidence and evaluated the effectiveness of surgical treatments in managing this condition. Patients with PBSH were retrospectively evaluated, identifying clinical and radiological characteristics. A multivariate logistic regression model was used for analyses.

A reduction in MSTN gene expression can enhance muscle mass and increase meat production. However, whether it will impact meat quality traits remains one of the major concerns in the cattle breeding industry.

The lymphocyte-to-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (LHR) has emerged as a novel inflammatory metabolic marker. The present study focused on evaluating the association between the LHR and both IR and MetS.

Here we report a distinctive core@satellite strategy for designing the advanced platinum-nickel@platinum-nickel-copper-cobalt-indium high-entropy alloy nanowires (PtNi@HEA NWs) as efficient bifunctional catalysts in the proton exchange membrane fuel cell. Impressively, the PtNi@HEA NWs/C shows 19.

This multicenter, phase II, randomized, controlled study was conducted across China between February 2021 and October 2022. Fifty adult patients with previously untreated CD20-positive DLBCL were randomized to receive one cycle of IV rituximab and seven cycles of SC rituximab (R-CHOP; = 26), or eight cycles of IV rituximab (R-CHOP; = 24), combined with six or eight cycles of CHOP.

This study involved 88 participants completing 1860 sets of experiments under three conditions: sitting still, turning the head, and moving, providing subjective evaluations of wearing HMDs. A static torque testing device was used to simulate neck torque under flexion states.

The results showed that supplemental FR significantly promoted the growth and photosynthesis of mint, as evidenced by the increase in plant height, plant width, biomass, effective quantum yield of PSII photochemistry (F'/F'), maximal quantum yield of PSII (F/F), and performance index (PI). UVA and CK exhibited minimal differences.

Herein, we report 16 Pt-based heterophase nanotrepang with rare earth (RE)-doped face-centered cubic Pt (fcc-Pt) and trigonal Pt-tellurium (t-PtTe) configurations ((RE-Pt)-PtTe HPNT). Yttrium (Y) is identified as the optimal dopant, existing as single sites and clusters on the surface.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the malocclusion associated with TMJ ADD and CR in adolescents.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included a clinical examination of adolescent patients aged 11-19 years.

Background: The presence of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutations and 1p/19q codeletion significantly influences the diagnosis and prognosis of patients with lower-grade gliomas (LGGs). The ability to predict these molecular signatures preoperatively can inform surgical strategies. This study sought to establish an interpretable imaging feature set for predicting molecular signatures and overall survival in LGGs.

Lymph node metastasis is an important biological feature of oral squamous cell carcinoma, bearing poorly prognostic implications. However, the role of lymph node metastasis in cancer progression remains inconclusive. On the one hand, lymph nodes are pivotal sites for initiating specific immunity, which is crucial for maintaining antitumor immune response.

In addition, there is a lack of biosafety assessments regarding respiratory exposure to BPNM of different sizes. In this study, we investigated the lung toxicity in mice exposed to 5, 50, 500 μg/kg of black phosphorus quantum dots (BPQDs) and black phosphorus nanosheet (BPNS) via single tracheal instillation.

CHD6, a member of the chromodomain helicase DNA-binding protein family, has been implicated in various diseases and tumors. However, its precise binding model of CHD6 on regulatory functional genes remains poorly understood. In this study, we discovered sharp peaks of CHD6, as the first member of CHD family for housekeeping process, binding only to the promoter region of genes in the C4-2 cell line.

However, standard GWAS can detect only QTL that segregate in the mapping population. Crossing populations with different characteristics increases genetic variability but F2 or back-crosses lack mapping resolution due to the limited number of recombination events.

Immunotherapy has improved the survival rate of patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), but less than 20 % of them have a durable response to these treatments. Excessive local recurrence and lymph node metastasis ultimately lead to death, making the 5-year survival rate of HNSCC still not optimistic. Cell metabolism has become a key determinant of the viability and function of cancer cells and immune cells.

Rapid and accurate detection of infectious disease pathogens is of crucial practical significance for early screening, timely intervention, and outbreak prevention. However, conventional diagnostic methods are increasingly unable to meet clinical demands.

Background: Since its first application in 1978, the vascularized free iliac flap (VFIF) has gradually become a mainstay for tissue defect reconstruction. However, the complications associated with harvesting the bone flap and its corresponding reconstruction surgery cannot be overlooked.
Methods: We conducted a narrative review through literature search to identify the types, incidence, influencing factors, measurement methods, and treatment approaches of complications related to DCIA-related VFIF.
Chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP), with a high prevalence and rising epidemic of opioids crisis, is typically derived from acute postoperative pain. Our knowledge on the forming of chronic pain mostly derives from mechanistic studies of pain processing in the brain and spinal cord circuits, yet most pharmacological interventions targeting CNS came to be unhelpful in preventing CPSP. Revealing the peripheral mechanisms behind the transition from acute to chronic pain after surgery could shine a light on the novel analgesic regimens.
