To delineate further the clinical phenotype of Lamb-Shaffer Syndrome (LSS) 16 unpublished patients with heterozygous variation in SOX5 were identified either through the UK Decipher database or the study team was contacted by clinicians directly. Clinical phenotyping tables were completed for each patient by their responsible clinical geneticist. Photos and clinical features were compared to assess key phenotypes and genotype-phenotype correlation.

Introduction: Pre-eclampsia negatively affects pregnancy. In 2018, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) updated their low dose aspirin (LDA) supplementation recommendation to include pregnant women at moderate risk for pre-eclampsia. In addition to the potential benefit of LDA supplementation for delaying or preventing pre-eclampsia, LDA supplementation can affect neonatal outcomes.

Objective: This study aims to co-design an evidence- and theory-based behavioural intervention to reduce the impact of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) symptoms on patients' quality of life.

Methods: Guided by the Medical Research Council Framework for developing and evaluating complex interventions, our intervention development process was guided by (a) findings of systematic reviews, (b) inductive analysis of 39 h of observational fieldwork, 12 patient and 11 clinician interviews, (c) deductive analysis using the Common-Sense Model to develop a Self-Regulation Model of CIPN and (d) 17 patients and 18 clinicians co-designing the intervention.

Results: CIPN perception and coping behaviours were highlighted as processes to target when co-designing an intervention.

Background: Patient and Public Involvement is most usually framed in the context of designing, conducting and/or disseminating research. Participatory methods such as Experience-Based Co-Design (EBCD) further allow service users to directly engage in developing, testing and implementing interventions and services alongside healthcare staff. This paper aims to explore how participants in an EBCD project came-over time-to perceive their role and involvement in co-designing a cancer care intervention.

Background: Low birthweight (LBW) infants are at higher risk of mortality and morbidity (growth, chronic disease and neurological problems) during their life. Due to the high incidence of (pre-) eclampsia in Haiti, LBW infants are common. We assessed the anthropometric growth (weight and length) and neurodevelopmental delay in LBW and normal birthweight (NBW) infants born at an obstetric emergency hospital in Port au Prince, Haiti, between 2014 and 2017.

Postpartum visits may provide patients with an inadequate amount of counseling on postpartum depression, birth spacing, healthy eating, exercise, or changes in sexual response and emotions. We created a template in our electronic health record (EHR) with the aid of our clinical informatics department to increased adherence with recommended counseling guidelines. We retrospectively reviewed the postpartum visits of 200 patients who had a delivery and received postpartum care.

Mycoplasma hyorhinis (Mhr) is a pathogen of pigs causing polyserositis and polyarthritis. The most susceptible population are nursery pigs of approximately 7 weeks of age, although we have shown that clinical signs can persist into finishing aged animals after a late-nursery infection. We have previously demonstrated the efficacy of a novel inactivated Mhr vaccine for the reduction of lameness and polyserositis in caesarian-derived colostrum-deprived (CDCD) pigs vaccinated at 3 weeks and challenged with Mhr at 6 weeks of age.

Background: The primary objective of this comparative, cross-sectional study was to identify factors affecting delays in accessing emergency obstetric care and clinical consequences of delays among preeclamptic and non-preeclamptic women in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Methods: We administered 524 surveys to women admitted to the Médecins Sans Frontières Centre de Référence en Urgences Obstétricales (CRUO) obstetric emergency hospital. Survey questions addressed first (at home), second (transport) and third (health facility) delays; demographic, clinical, and behavioral risk factors for delay; and clinical outcomes for women and infants.

Lameness and polyserositis in pigs caused by Mycoplasma hyorhinis are generally treated with antibiotics and may require multiple doses. The costs of these antibiotics combined with economic losses from culling and reduced feed conversion due to lameness are hardships to the swine producer. In this study we have demonstrated efficacy of an inactivated M.

Background: Tanzania has seen a reduction in the fraction of fevers caused by malaria, likely due in part to scale-up of control measures. While national guidelines require parasite-based diagnosis prior to treatment, it is estimated that more than half of suspected malaria treatment-seeking in Tanzania initiates in the private retail sector, where diagnosis by malaria rapid diagnostic test (RDT) or microscopy is illegal. This pilot study investigated whether the introduction of RDTs into Accredited Drug Dispensing Outlets (ADDOs) under realistic market conditions would improve case management practices.

Two studies were conducted to determine if clinical metritis could be prevented or decreased in at-risk lactating dairy cows by a single treatment with Excede Sterile Suspension (ceftiofur crystalline free acid sterile suspension [CCFA-SS]) administered within 24 hours after an abnormal calving. Study 1 was a preliminary study and study 2 was a clinical trial (designed to confirm the results of study 1). In both studies, abnormal calving was defined as cows that had dystocia (required assistance), twins, abortion, retained fetal membranes for 12 hours or more, or any combination thereof.
