Introduction: Renal parenchymal volume can be used clinically to estimate differential renal function. Unfortunately, conventional methods to determine renal volume from computed tomography (CT) are time-consuming or difficult due to software limitations. Patients And Methods: • Thirty-one patients who developed urine leak after partial nephrectomy between 1998 and 2006 were identified. Each patient was individually matched (1 : 4 by age, gender and surgery date) to 124 patients who had undergone partial nephrectomy but without urine leak.
Introduction/objectives: Our objective was to review our experience with lower urinary tract leiomyomata to determine if presentation, exam and imaging allows for stratification of the treatment of this rare lesion.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective review of current practice was performed from the Mayo Clinic Rochester database identifying 13 female patients and 10 males from 1995-2008, focusing on the clinical presentation, cystoscopic findings, imaging and operative approaches.
Results: Symptomatic patients had larger lesions, were more likely to be females, or had midline periurethral or bladder neck lesions.
We describe two cases of persistent urine leak after partial nephrectomies that were both due to surgically induced isolated calices. We hypothesize that the isolated calices were created while suturing the collecting systems, with inadvertent closure of single infundibula. Both cases were managed by percutaneous nephrostomy tube drainage of the renal pelvises and the isolated calices, in addition to indwelling ureteral stents.

We report the second case of a primary retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenocarcinoma in a man. The patient was an 83-year-old man, with a large 26 x 20 x 16-cm retroperitoneal cystic mass causing abdominal discomfort and cachexia, who underwent excision of the mass.
