The experience of parental death concomitant with parental divorce occurs for 46% of Danish children and 50% of American children who lose a parent to death. This experience of loss and double bereavement compounds increased risk of mental health problems. The aim of this study was to explore nursing interventions for double bereaved children that promoted their well-being.

Being a parent to an adolescent with an eating disorder is often linked to feelings of guilt and hopelessness and at the same time parents often feel left alone with unmet needs when it comes to handling symptoms in family life. Little is known about parents' perspectives to skills-based training in adolescent eating disorder treatment.

Because the need for support might be enhanced after a hospitalisation, it might be beneficial to explore this interaction further in follow-up health care.
Aim: To explore the meaning of patients' and their family members' experiences of interacting with healthcare providers to their daily self-management over time.

Purpose: In healthcare related to hospital discharge and follow-up, it is acknowledged that patient participation can strengthen self-management in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. However, the meaning of participation in care following a severe acute exacerbation is less described. Therefore, the aim of this part of a larger study was to explore patients' experiences of participating in their care around discharge and in their subsequent day-to-day care at home.

Background: When recovering from an exacerbation, the challenges associated with an unpredictable health condition dominate everyday life for patients and can involve their family members. Proper patient and family participation in care during discharge and follow-up can help patients to improve self-management.
This paper examines how the relatives of a person with dementia experience challenges in everyday life. A model of phases is developed on the basis of interviews with 14 relatives from eight families. Data were subjected to a thematic content analysis, which found that the progression of dementia - from the perspective of the family - had three phases.

In a field experiment, vegetables were grown in two contaminated soils and in a reference soil, whereas fruits were collected from uncontaminated and contaminated private gardens. The results showed elevated levels of several trace elements and PAHs in the vegetables from contaminated soil.

In 55% of the calls, the practitioners arrived within five minutes, whereas the ambulance arrived within five minutes in only 16% of the cases (p < 0.01).

The 'quality of life' did not differ significantly between the three treatment periods. At the presumed trough of the diuretic effect the circulating blood volume was largest during treatment 1; it was 6.

The blood volume can be measured after labelling of red blood cells with technetium-99m. In addition, the blood volume and its standard error of estimate can be calculated from the subject's sex, height and deviation from desired weight. By comparing the measured blood volume with the estimated normal blood volume and using a statistical test, it can be decided whether a measured blood volume is normal or not.
