Early time-restricted eating (eTRE) is a dietary strategy that restricts caloric intake to the first 6-8 h of the day and can effect metabolic benefits independent of weight loss. However, the extent of these benefits is unknown. We conducted a randomized crossover feeding study to investigate the weight-independent effects of eTRE on glycemic variation, multiple time-in-range metrics, and levels of inflammatory markers.

Metagenome-assembled genomes from irradiated human dental plaque.

We provide 309 quality-controlled bacterial metagenome-assembled genomes recovered from supragingival plaque metagenomes. Samples were collected from head and neck cancer patients following radiotherapy, so the recovered genomes can be useful to investigate the effects of oral cavity irradiation on oral microbiome members.

A recent court case has challenged the Agency's longstanding definition of a patient, resulting in new definition that could significantly expand the size of the program and create conflicts when an insured patient satisfies the new definition for more than one hospital or clinic participating in the program.

Preliminary Development of DNA Aptamer Quantum Dot-Based Competitive Lateral Flow Assays for Saxitoxin and Tetrodotoxin.

Initial proof-of-concept development of competitive lateral flow (LF) test strips involving red quantum dots (Qdots) is demonstrated with visible confirmation of the competitive displacement of Qdot-protein-saxitoxin (Stx) and -tetrodotoxin (Ttx) conjugates over 15 min. The measured limits of detection (LODs) for the best versions of the assays were in the 1-2 µg range when a bovine serum albumin (BSA)-Stx or -Ttx conjugate was used as the analyte for safety reasons and NIH ImageJ image analysis was applied. However, when one assumes that only one of the primary amines in BSA labeled with Stx or Ttx is needed as the "epitope" for capture and calculates the weight of the toxin adducts on an equal mole basis to that of 1 µg of toxin-BSA conjugate, the LODs are as low as 4.

Importance: The 340B program provides discounts on outpatient drugs to certain hospitals and federally supported clinics (covered entities) that can be used to generate revenue to fund safety net care. While numerous studies have found no association between 340B and safety net care provision for most hospital covered entities, less is known about whether federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), the largest group of covered entities after hospitals, use the program to enhance safety net care.

Objective: To assess whether a proxy for 340B revenue was associated with increased safety net care provision among FQHCs.

Phalloidin-PAINT: Enhanced quantitative nanoscale imaging of F-actin.

We present phalloidin-based points accumulation for imaging in nanoscale topography (phalloidin-PAINT), enabling quantitative superresolution imaging of filamentous actin (F-actin) in the cell body and delicate membrane protrusions. We demonstrate that the intrinsic phalloidin dissociation enables PAINT superresolution microscopy in an imaging buffer containing low concentrations of dye-conjugated phalloidin. We further show enhanced single-molecule labeling by chemically promoting phalloidin dissociation.
