Active bleeding from downhill varices: case report and management.

Video 1EGD revealing 1 column of nonbleeding grade 2 varices in the middle third of the esophagus at the anterior wall; absent red wale sign and 3 columns of nonbleeding grade 3 varices in the upper third of the esophagus in the anterior and posterior wall. Stigmata of recent bleeding evident, red wale signs present, and 1 white nipple sign identified in the anterior wall, in the same column coming from the middle esophagus. Successful variceal banding ligation was performed, and there was no recurrence of bleeding.

Rumination Syndrome: Recognition and Treatment.

Purpose Of Review: The purpose of this paper is to discuss current diagnostic and treatments of rumination. Rumination is often underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed in adults, especially when symptoms suggest regurgitation rather than vomiting accompanied by re-chewing and re-swallowing and should be included in the differential diagnosis. It is primarily diagnosed clinically by ROME-IV or DSM-5.

Safety and efficacy of over-the-scope clip-assisted full thickness resection of duodenal subepithelial tumors: A case report.

Background: Over-the-scope clip-assisted endoscopic full thickness resection (eFTR) of subepithelial tumors is a novel and promising endoscopic technique. Recently, there have been prospective studies investigating its use for colonic masses, but data regarding its use and efficacy in the duodenum are limited to a few reports.

Ipilimumab and Nivolumab induced steroid-refractory colitis treated with infliximab: A case report.

Background: A variety of immune-modulating drugs are becoming increasingly used for various cancers. Despite increasing indications and improved efficacy, they are often associated with a wide variety of immune mediated adverse events including colitis that may be refractory to conventional therapy. Although these drugs are being more commonly used by Hematologists and Oncologists, there are still many gastroenterologists who are not familiar with the incidence and natural history of gastrointestinal immune-mediated side effects, as well as the role of infliximab in the management of this condition.

Botulinum Toxin as a Treatment for Refractory Gastroparesis: a Literature Review.

Purpose Of Review: Gastroparesis (GP) is a disorder of gastrointestinal motility which leads to delayed gastric emptying in the absence of mechanical obstruction. Treatment is limited as many patients are refractory to dietary modification and the use prokinetic medications carry significant adverse risks. These limitations necessitate more research into experimental therapies.
