Unlabelled: Microbial isolates from sugar crop processing facilities were tested for sensitivity to several industrial antimicrobial agents to determine optimal dosing. Hydritreat 2216 showed broad-spectrum activity against all bacterial isolates as well as Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Sodium hypochlorite showed broad-spectrum activity against all isolates, but at much higher effective concentrations.

Disentangling the contributions from fluctuations in the nuclear overlap size (geometrical component) and other sources at a fixed size (intrinsic component) remains a challenge. This problem is addressed by measuring the mean, variance, and skewness of P([p_{T}]) in ^{208}Pb+^{208}Pb and ^{129}Xe+^{129}Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.

Its in vivo efficacy is limited by poor solubility and consequent poor bioavailability. Therefore, adipic acid was used as a coformer for the preparation of a binary product with improved pharmaceutical properties.

TAs typically consist of two linked genes: a toxin and an antidote. The toxin kills progeny that do not inherit the TA, while the antidote counteracts the toxin in progeny that inherit the TA.

Hydroxyapatite is one of the ideal matrices for DDS due to its biocompatibility, low cost, and ease of preparation.
Methods: We propose two doped hydroxyapatites, one with Ba on Ca sites another with Si on P sites, with the aim of improving the dissolution rate of piretanide, a diuretic, poorly water-soluble drug.
To analyze the role of PCI variation (Δ-PCI) before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in an interval cytoreductive surgery (ICS) setting with the aim to propose a scoring model for predicting both complete cytoreduction and histopathologic response. A total of 50 consecutive patients who underwent ICS at our institution were prospectively collected between January-2020 and December-2023. PCI was assessed at exploratory surgery and at ICS.

If observed, these rare processes would provide a unique test bench for the quantum chromodynamics factorization formalism used to calculate cross sections at colliders. Additionally, at future colliders, these decays could offer a new way to measure the W boson mass through fully reconstructed decay products.

At 95% confidence level (CL), the upper limit on the production rate is 2.9 times the standard model (SM) prediction, with an expected limit of 2.

The dataset used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector. Two fiducial regions with an enhanced presence of events featuring two longitudinally polarized bosons are defined.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFast radio bursts (FRBs) are millisecond-duration, bright (approximately Jy) extragalactic bursts, whose production mechanism is still unclear. Recently, two repeating FRBs were found to have a physically associated persistent radio source of non-thermal origin. These two FRBs have unusually large Faraday rotation measure values, probably tracing a dense magneto-ionic medium, consistent with synchrotron radiation originating from a nebula surrounding the FRB source.

Searches targeting pure-wino chargino pair production, pure-wino chargino-neutralino production, or Higgsino production decaying via standard model W, Z, or h bosons are combined to extend the mass reach to the produced supersymmetric particles by 30-100 GeV. The depth of the sensitivity of the original searches is also improved by the combinations, lowering the 95% C.

While the ecological processes regulating melanin production in relation to climate have been extensively studied, intraspecific variations of melanism are seldom considered. Such scientific gap hampers our understanding of how species adapt to rapidly changing climates.

The SMARTER H2020 project aims to redefine genetic selection criteria to increase the sustainability of the sector. The objective of this study was to analyse the selection and breeding management practices of small ruminant producers and breeders, linked with socio-technical elements that shape them.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA combination of searches for a new resonance decaying into a Higgs boson pair is presented, using up to 139 fb^{-1} of pp collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The combination includes searches performed in three decay channels: bb[over ¯]bb[over ¯], bb[over ¯]τ^{+}τ^{-}, and bb[over ¯]γγ. No excess above the expected Standard Model background is observed and upper limits are set at the 95% confidence level on the production cross section of Higgs boson pairs originating from the decay of a narrow scalar resonance with mass in the range 251 GeV-5 TeV.

One of the most diffused inorganic matrices is hydroxyapatite (HAP), which is a biocompatible and osteoconductive material. However, the understanding of the hybrids' functioning mechanisms is in many cases limited; thus, thorough physicochemical characterizations are needed.

This Letter presents a novel search for nearly mass-degenerate Higgsinos in events with an energetic jet, missing transverse momentum, and a low-momentum track with a significant transverse impact parameter using 140 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS experiment. For the first time since LEP, a range of mass splittings between the lightest charged and neutral Higgsinos from 0.

Our investigations allowed us to discover the existence of a new polymorph of imepitoin, which finds itself in a monotropic relationship with the crystalline form (polymorph I) already known and present on the market. This form (polymorph II), obtained by crystallization from xylene, remains metastable under ambient conditions for at least 1 year.

The vector bosons and Higgs bosons are each reconstructed as large-radius jets and tagged using jet substructure techniques.
