Endovascular Stapler Complications During Minimally Invasive Nephrectomy: An Updated Review of the FDA MAUDE Database From 2009-2019.

Objective: To characterize the rates of endovascular stapler complications during hilar ligation in minimally invasive radical nephrectomy over the last 10 years.

Material And Methods: We reviewed the Food and Drug Administration Manufacturer and User Facility Device Experience database from January 1, 2009 to August 1, 2019. Staplers were categorized according to type, namely Ethicon Inc.

Primary Urethral Melanoma: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Patients with localized urethral melanoma have a high risk of recurrence and poor disease-specific survival. Multi-disciplinary approach including surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy/immunotherapy is needed to maximize survival. Current research efforts include investigation of novel tyrosine kinases as well as the combination of targeted therapies with immunotherapies in this population.

Rehabilitation Course and Specification of Dysmetria of a Patient With Ataxia, Dysmetria, and Hemiparesis After a Stroke in the Corona Radiata: A Case Presentation.

Unlabelled: We present a case of a patient with ataxia, dysmetria, and hemiparesis after a stroke in the corona radiata. The patient had an excellent clinical course with near resolution of symptoms in 2 and a half weeks and returned back to work full duty and full time a couple of weeks later. We use videos of several neurologic tests to demonstrate and characterize the dysmetria.

Development of a Cancer Care Summary Through the Electronic Health Record.

Introduction: Our objective was to improve communication concerning lung cancer patients by developing and distributing a Cancer Care Summary that would provide clinically useful information about the patient's diagnosis and care to providers in diverse settings.

Methods: We designed structured, electronic forms for the electronic health record (EHR), detailing tumor staging, classification, and treatment. To ensure completeness and accuracy of the information, we implemented a data quality cycle, composed of reports that are reviewed by oncology clinicians.

Surrogate decision making for patients with severe traumatic brain injury.

Each year more than 1.7 million people experience traumatic brain injury. This qualitative descriptive study sought to describe how surrogate decision makers for patients with severe traumatic brain injury made the decision to withdraw or continue life support, and whether they believed that the health care team could have been of greater assistance.
