We aimed to set up a multicentric dataset of aMPL dermoscopic cases paired with multiple anamnestic risk factors and demographic and morphologic data. Each aMPL case was paired with a dermoscopic and clinical picture and a series of lesion-related data (maximum diameter value; location on the palm/sole in 17 areas; histologic diagnosis; and patient-related data (age, sex, family history of melanoma/sunburns, phototype, pheomelanin, eye/hair color, multiple/dysplastic body nevi, and traumatism on palms/soles).

Small, pigmented lesions often represent a challenge for the clinician, as predictors of melanoma have not yet been uniquely identified in this setting.
Objectives: To identify dermoscopic features that aid in distinguishing small diameter melanomas (≤5 mm) from equivocal melanocytic nevi measuring ≤5 mm.
Introduction: A peripheral rim of globules represents a marker of the horizontal growth phase in nevi and is a common feature in children and adolescents. The observation of melanocytic lesions with peripheral globules (MLPGs) in adulthood deserves more attention, since melanoma may exhibit this feature, albeit rarely. Risk-stratified management recommendations considering a global clinical approach are still missing.

Moreover, to assess the severity of AK, most guidelines rely on lesion count, which is often not reproducible among specialists. The present work has 2 main objectives: first, to review and highlight some of the issues clinicians tackle when classifying and monitoring AK lesions and the status of FC, looking in more detail at some of the most commonly used clinical scales for classifying AK lesions.

The disease is considered an end-stage complication of rosacea's recurrent episodes of vascular dilation and inflammation or a complication of acne vulgaris. The disease is often insidious to diagnose and challenging to treat.

Even though the introduction of dermoscopy has improved the diagnostic accuracy, it can still be difficult to distinguish some melanomas from benign melanocytic lesions. Digital dermoscopy monitoring can identify dynamic changes of melanocytic lesions: To date, some algorithms were proposed, but a universally accepted one is still lacking.

Objective: To evaluate how the burden of HS disease impacts on patient well-being and working activities in a large Italian population over a period of 9 months.
Methods: A multicenter, prospective, epidemiologic cohort study was conducted in adult Italian patients with HS.
The steep increase in incidence of cutaneous malignant melanoma in white populations mainly applies to thin lesions with good survival suggesting overdiagnosis. Based on population-based cancer registries (CRs), we have investigated changes in aggressive melanoma, selecting only cases who died within 1 or 3 years after diagnosis in 11 European countries between 1995 and 2012. Trends in fatal cases were analysed by period of diagnosis, sex, tumour thickness, histologic subtype of the lesion, tumour site and CR with a multivariate generalised linear mixed effects model, where geographical area was considered as a random effect.

Its application in dermatology can facilitate the diagnosis of diseases such as cutaneous larva migrans by enabling us to recognize the precise position of larva in vivo on the skin. Using this noninvasive technique, we detected a case of cutaneous larva migrans in a patient.

Objective: To perform a retrospective, observational study with the aim to evaluate the prevalence of CMN-associated melanomas in tertiary referral centers, as well as the eventual correlation between clinical, dermoscopic, and histological features of CMN-associated melanomas.
Trombiculosis is a skin infestation by larvae of mites of the Trombiculidae family. We used fluorescence-advanced videodermatoscopy to diagnose trombiculosis in a woman in Italy with targetoid patches. This method might be useful for identifying atypical manifestations of trombiculosis.

Purpose: Thin melanomas (T1; ≤ 1 mm) constitute 70% of newly diagnosed cutaneous melanomas. Regional node metastasis determined by sentinel node biopsy (SNB) is an important prognostic factor for T1 melanoma. However, current melanoma guidelines do not provide clear indications on when to perform SNB in T1 disease and stress an individualized approach to SNB that considers all clinicopathologic risk factors.

Actinic keratosis (AK) is a chronic skin condition that can be a precursor to cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. AK can recur and patients are likely to undergo multiple treatments. It is important that AK lesions are managed appropriately, and that patients are involved in treatment decisions.
