Introduction: Despite the high potential need for emergency contraception (EC) among college students, lack of accurate knowledge may decrease the likelihood of its use in this population. We examined knowledge about EC methods, potential outcomes of use, and access among college students in the United States.

Methods: We recruited college students from a listserv devoted to EC campus activism for an online survey about EC knowledge (N = 150) and conducted 24 follow-up in-depth interviews.

Background: In 2017, the international European Men-who-have-sex-with-men Internet Survey (EMIS-2017) collected data from 50 countries, including Canada for the first time.

Objective: To provide an overview of the Canadian EMIS-2017 data to describe the sexually transmitted and other bloodborne infection (STBBI) related needs of gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (gbMSM).

Methods: The EMIS-2017 questionnaire was an updated version of EMIS-2010.

The retraction of the protoplast during PCD is an active, and interruptible, calcium-flux driven process.

The protoplast retracts during apoptosis-like programmed cell death (AL-PCD) and, if this retraction is an active component of AL-PCD, it should be used as a defining feature for this type of programmed cell death. We used an array of pharmacological and genetic tools to test if the rates of protoplast retraction in cells undergoing AL-PCD can be modulated. Disturbing calcium flux signalling, ATP synthesis and mitochondrial permeability transition all inhibited protoplast retraction and often also the execution of the death programme.

Purpose: Using the Internet to meet new people is becoming more common; however, such behavior is often considered risky, particularly for adolescents. Nevertheless, adolescents are meeting people through online venues and some are forming romantic/sexual relationships. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship and sexual satisfaction reported by teens in online- and offline-initiated relationships.

Mitochondrial Markers of Programmed Cell Death in Arabidopsis thaliana.

In plants, apoptosis-like programmed cell death (AL-PCD) is readily distinguished from other forms of programmed cell death (PCD) through a distinct morphology. Detection of cytochrome c release from mitochondria and changes in mitochondrial morphology are the earliest markers for detection of this form of PCD in plants. In this chapter we provide detailed technical methods for the visualization of both of these mitochondrial markers of AL-PCD in Arabidopsis.

Horner's syndrome associated with Neospora infection.

A working collie cross was presented with a three-month history of vague neurological signs and a right-sided Horner's syndrome. Denervation hypersensitivity testing suggested a first order syndrome. There was a significant positive titre to Neospora and clinical signs resolved completely following treatment.
