Interferon response and epigenetic modulation by mutations drive ovarian tumor immunogenicity.

Cell-intrinsic mechanisms of immunogenicity in ovarian cancer (OC) are not well understood. Damaging mutations in the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, such as (BRG1), are associated with improved response to immune checkpoint blockade; however, the mechanism by which this occurs is unclear. We found that loss in OC models resulted in increased cancer cell-intrinsic immunogenicity, characterized by up-regulation of long-terminal RNA repeats, increased expression of interferon-stimulated genes, and up-regulation of antigen presentation machinery.

A digital iCBT intervention for social anxiety disorder in Quebec and Ontario: protocol for a multi-phase effectiveness-implementation study.

Background: Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is one of the most prevalent anxiety disorders in Canada. Viable therapy options for the treatment of SAD include CBT being delivered virtually. In Australia, an innovative internet-delivered cognitive-behavioral therapy (iCBT) program for social anxiety has been developed, implemented, and demonstrated as effective.

GD2 and GD3 gangliosides as prognostic biomarkers in high grade serous ovarian cancer.

Objective: Gangliosides GD2 and GD3 have been proposed to be of significance in diagnosis of ovarian masses. We aim to study serum GD2 and GD3 gangliosides as predictors of oncological outcomes among high grade serous (HGS) ovarian cancer (OC).

Materials And Methods: A retrospective study including biobanked serum samples of HGS OC treated between 2005 and 2016.

Interleukin-10 (IL-10) has been shown to be present at high levels in the ascites of ovarian cancer (OC) patients; however, little is known about its prognostic value. We sought to correlate IL-10 levels in ascites and sera of OC patients with clinicopathologic characteristics and oncologic outcomes. IL-10 levels and clinical data from biobanked ascites and serum samples of OC patients were evaluated.

Case management in primary healthcare for people with complex needs to improve integrated care: a large-scale implementation study protocol.

Introduction: Case management (CM) is among the most studied effective models of integrated care for people with complex needs. The goal of this study is to scale up and assess CM in primary healthcare for people with complex needs.

Methods And Analysis: The research questions are: (1) which mechanisms contribute to the successful scale-up of CM for people with complex needs in primary healthcare?; (2) how do contextual factors within primary healthcare organisations contribute to these mechanisms? and (3) what are the relationships between the actors, contextual factors, mechanisms and outcomes when scaling-up CM for people with complex needs in primary healthcare? We will conduct a mixed methods Canadian interprovincial project in Quebec, New-Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

The gambling landscape was profoundly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to an increase in online gambling participation. This growth raises concerns about the potential harms associated with online gambling. This qualitative study aims to understand the lived experiences of gamblers whose participation in online gambling increased due to the pandemic.

ERBB2 mutations define a subgroup of endometrial carcinomas associated with high tumor mutational burden and the microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) molecular subtype.

Anti-HER2 therapy is indicated for erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2 (ERBB2)-amplified/overexpressing endometrial carcinoma (EC). Mutations constitute another mode of ERBB2 activation, but only rare ERBB2-mutated ECs have been reported. We sought to characterize the clinicopathologic and genetic features of ERBB2-mutated EC.

Background: Gambling disorder (GD) is a pressing public health concern with significant societal costs. The recently developed nudge theory, which is rooted in behavioral economics, aims to influence the decision-making behaviors of individuals by implementing changes in the environment.

Aim: This scoping review aims to synthesize the literature on nudge theory as it relates to gambling.

Methods: A retrospective review of robot-assisted surgery in Gynecological Oncology division during 2019-2022. We included all consecutive cases.

Association between BMI and oncologic outcomes in epithelial ovarian cancer: a predictors-matched case-control study.

Objective: We aimed to study the association between obesity and survival in ovarian cancer (OC) patients, accounting for confounders as disease stage, histology, and comorbidities.

Methods: Retrospective matched case-control study of consecutive patients, with epithelial OC. Obese (body mass index [BMI] ≥ 35 kg m) patients were matched in a 1:4 ratio with patients having lower BMIs (BMI < 35 kg m) based on disease stage, cytoreduction state, tumor histology and ASA score.

Machine learning for prediction of concurrent endometrial carcinoma in patients diagnosed with endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia.

Objective: To identify predictive clinico-pathologic factors for concurrent endometrial carcinoma (EC) among patients with endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN) using machine learning.

Methods: a retrospective analysis of 160 patients with a biopsy proven EIN. We analyzed the performance of multiple machine learning models (n = 48) with different parameters to predict the diagnosis of postoperative EC.

Direct Mass Measurements to Inform the Behavior of ^{128m}Sb in Nucleosynthetic Environments.

Nuclear isomer effects are pivotal in understanding nuclear astrophysics, particularly in the rapid neutron-capture process where the population of metastable isomers can alter the radioactive decay paths of nuclei produced during astrophysical events. The β-decaying isomer ^{128m}Sb was identified as potentially impactful since the β-decay pathway along the A=128 isobar funnels into this state bypassing the ground state. We report the first direct mass measurements of the ^{128}Sb isomer and ground state using the Canadian Penning Trap mass spectrometer at Argonne National Laboratory.

Midodrine-Induced Nightmares in the Treatment of Orthostatic Hypotension: A Case Report.

Midodrine was the first medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of orthostatic hypotension. Pharmacologically, midodrine is a peripheral selective alpha-1-adrenergic agonist that can improve standing, sitting, and supine systolic blood pressure. Common side effects include bradycardia, supine hypertension, and paresthesia.

Pharmacotherapy and gambling disorder: a narrative review.

Background: Gambling disorder (GD) is a psychiatric disorder classified in the DSM-5 as a non-substance-related and addictive disorder with extensive health and socioeconomic impacts. Its chronic and high-relapsing nature makes it essential to find treatment strategies that improve functioning and reduce impairment associated with it. The purpose of this narrative review is to evaluate and summarize the available evidence on the effectiveness and safety of pharmacotherapy in GD.

Angular Correlations in the β Decay of ^{8}B: First Tensor-Current Limits from a Mirror-Nucleus Pair.

We present the first measurement of the α-β-ν angular correlation in the Gamow-Teller β^{+} decay of ^{8}B. This was accomplished using the Beta-decay Paul Trap, expanding on our previous work on the β^{-} decay of ^{8}Li. The ^{8}B result is consistent with the V-A electroweak interaction of the standard model and, on its own, provides a limit on the exotic right-handed tensor current relative to the axial-vector current of |C_{T}/C_{A}|^{2}<0.

A call for qualitative and mixed-methods research on gambling and cannabis.

Gambling disorder and cannabis use disorder are both considered major public health issues. Despite the well-documented frequency of substance use disorders among people with gambling disorder, little is known about the experiences of those who both engage with gambling and cannabis. A scoping review was undertaken to investigate studies focusing on the experiences of people who gamble and use cannabis.

Researchers' experiences with patient engagement in health research: a scoping review and thematic synthesis.

Context: Implicating patients in research is gaining popularity around the world and is now the reference of many funding agencies. Understanding these partnerships is necessary to grasp this new reality. The experiences of researchers who have involved patient-partners (PPs) in health research are important for a better understanding of these practices.
