Despite the presence of numerous heterocyclic compounds in commercial insecticides and larvicides, resistance to pesticides still demands novel strategies to current pest control methods. Sleep quality of vulnerable elderly people: associated factors.

Objective: To identify factors associated with poor sleep quality in elderly dependent individuals in social vulnerability.

Method: Cross-sectional study with 59 elderly dependent individuals assisted by Family Health Units in São Carlos/SP. The following tools were used: Katz Index, Lawton and Brody Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination Revised, Fried's Frailty Phenotype, Geriatric Depression Scale (15 items), Perceived Stress Scale, Family APGAR, Social Support Scale from the Medical Outcomes Study, and World Health Organization Quality of Life, abbreviated and "old" versions.

Association between low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and all-cause mortality in patients with coronary artery disease: a real-world analysis using data from an international network.

The current cholesterol guidelines recommend maintaining low levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). However, recent studies have suggested that both very low and very high LDL-C levels may be associated with increased mortality in the general population. We utilized data from TriNetX, a global health research network, to investigate the association between LDL-C levels and all-cause mortality in patients with CAD.

Structural characterization of a sulfated polysaccharide from Gracilariadomingensis and potential anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive effects.

Seaweeds are natural sources of sulfated polysaccharides (SPs), biopolymers with remarkable pharmacological properties, including biological actions capable of attenuating components of the inflammatory process such as edema, cytokines, cell migration and pain. Our results confirm that SPs obtained from Gracilaria domingensis (SP-GD) are agarans, primarily composed of residues of β-d-galactopyranose 6-sulfate and 3,6-anhydro-α-l-galactopyranose. Specifically, SP-GD at a dose of 10 mg/kg was effective in significantly reducing paw edema induced by carrageenan or histamine, serotonin, bradykinin, 48/80 and prostaglandin E2.

NADES are green and sustainable solvents with advantageous chemical properties for such applications. The NADES were prepared with different components, characterized, and applied in ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) methods.
