A sound translation is complex but necessary to provide a valid patient-reported questionnaire. The aim of this study was therefore to translate, culturally adapt, and linguistically validate the 17-item Wound-Quality of Life (Wound-QoL) questionnaire from English to Norwegian. For translation and cultural adaption of the Wound-QoL, we followed the methods described by the ISPOR-The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (formerly, the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research), Messaging Application Programming Interface Research Institute, and recommendations from literature reviews.

Using a lepirudin-based human whole blood model, we evaluated the initial inflammatory and coagulation responses of dense and porous ultrapure (<50 endotoxin units/grams) cellulose nanofibrils (CNF), of carboxylated grade. The CNF was compared to the wound dressing AquaCel because it is a potential wound-healing material. The porous CNF aerogels induced the strongest coagulation potential measured as prothrombin factor 1.

Wood nanocellulose has been proposed for wound dressing applications partly based on its capability to form translucent films with good liquid absorption capabilities. Such properties are adequate for non-healing and chronic wounds where adequate management of exudates is a requirement. Macrolide-resistant strains of Mycoplasma genitalium are an increasing problem throughout the world, and the implementation of a rapid and sensitive assay for mutation detection to guide treatment is needed. Macrolide-resistant strains have been shown to contain base substitutions in positions 2058 and 2059 (Escherichia coli numbering) in region V of the 23S rRNA gene. Alginates from seaweed are used in chronic wound management, though the molecular and cellular effects of various alginate dressings are not well documented. We have developed ultrapure sodium-alginates from Pseudomonas fluorescens with different content and distribution of single guluronic acid (G) residues (0-45% G), and tested their biological activities on human primary keratinocytes (KCs).
