Purpose: To report 2 cases of central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) that occurred within 24 hours of routine phacoemulsification cataract surgery using peribulbar anesthesia.
Methods: Case 1: An otherwise well 76-year-old woman with right pseudoexfoliation syndrome and bilateral open angle glaucoma presented with right visual acuity of counting fingers on the first postoperative day after cataract surgery. The CRAO was noted on fundoscopy.
Purpose: To examine the correlation between health-related quality of life (HRQOL) scores [assessed using the generic Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) questionnaire] and vision-related quality of life (VRQOL) scores [assessed using the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire (NEI-VFQ25)].
Methods: Cross-sectional analytic study. All surviving participants of the Blue Mountains Eye Study (n = 1952, aged 60 years and older) were invited to attend comprehensive eye examinations 10 years after baseline examinations and were asked to complete both questionnaires.
Background: The use of a hard palate mucous membrane graft (HPMMG) has been previously described for upper and lower eyelid cicatricial entropion repair. The objective of this paper is to review the surgical technique and postoperative complications in a large series of patient who underwent hard palate grafting for the management of cicatricial entropion.
Methods: The medical records of 107 patients representing 147 eyelids undergoing surgical management of cicatricial entropion with HPMMG were reviewed.
Purpose: To assess the effect of topical Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory drugs in the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis.
