NUT fusion-associated cancers are heterogeneous and include NUT carcinoma and an emerging group with non-BRD4/BRD3/NSD3 fusion partners. In this study, we characterized 11 tumors harboring MAD::NUT fusions (10/11 in female patients; median age: 48 years; range: 1-67 years), all histologically different from NUT carcinoma. Eight cases were identified via sequencing database review and 3 were diagnosed prospectively.

Myoid hamartoma of the breast is an uncommon benign breast neoplasm. We describe an unusual example of an in-situ and invasive carcinoma arising in a myoid hamartoma. We also describe the unique molecular findings in the myoid hamartoma and review the pertinent literature.

Gamma delta (γδ) T cells are defined by their unique ability to recognize a limited repertoire of non-peptide, non-MHC-associated antigens on transformed and pathogen-infected cells. In addition to their lack of alloreactivity, γδ T cells exhibit properties distinct from other lymphocyte subsets, prompting significant interest in their development as an off-the-shelf cellular immunotherapeutic. However, their low abundance in circulation, heterogeneity, limited methods for expansion, and under-developed methodologies for genetic modification have hindered basic study and clinical application of γδ T cells.

Purpose: DEK::AFF2 fusion-associated squamous cell carcinoma (DEK::AFF2 SCC), also reported in the literature as low-grade papillary sinonasal (Schneiderian) carcinoma (LGPSC), is a rare, primarily bland-appearing, but locally aggressive neoplasm. Morphologically, these tumors can closely resemble sinonasal papilloma (SP), especially on small or limited biopsy, often leading to misdiagnosis. DEK::AFF2 SCC is devoid of the underlying mutually exclusive EGFR or KRAS driver mutations of SP, suggesting it may represent a distinct unique entity.

Article Synopsis
  • Spindle cell-rich testicular sex cord-stromal tumors (TSCSTs) include types like myoid gonadal stromal tumor (MGST), adult granulosa cell tumor (AGCT), and unclassified TSCST, showing histopathologic similarities and lacking clear oncogenic drivers.
  • DNA sequencing indicates common chromosomal gains in these tumors, but further validation of these findings has not yet taken place, and the amount of chromosomal alterations varies among individual tumors.
  • This study used fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) to assess chromosomal changes in 10 tumors, revealing consistent increases in specific chromosomes across various cases, while also uncovering partial disagreements between FISH analysis and previous genomic sequencing results,

Xanthogranulomatous epithelial tumor (XGET) and HMGA2::NCOR2 fusion keratin-positive giant cell-rich tumor (KPGCT) are recently described morphologically overlapping rare neoplastic entities characterized by HMGA2::NCOR2 fusions, low-grade biological behavior, and a strong predilection for young females. To date, 47 cases have been reported with only four occurring in head and neck anatomic locations. In this study, we describe the clinicopathologic, immunohistochemical, and molecular findings of seven XGET/KPGCTs occurring in the head and neck region.

Introduction: This work reports on a systematic approach to select MRI sequences, quantify inter-observer image registration variation and determine patient positioning for the clinical implementation of MR-guided adaptive radiotherapy (MRgRT) in patients with oropharyngeal (H&N) and lung cancer.

Methods: A total of 30 participants (N=10 H&N and N=10 lung cancer patients and N=10 healthy participants) were scanned on the Elekta Unity Magnetic Resonance Linear Accelerator (MRL). Participant experience questionnaires were used to determine the most appropriate positioning device for lung treatments and tolerability of H&N immobilization devices within the confined MR Linac environment.

Angiomyolipoma (AML) is a neoplasm within the perivascular epithelioid cell tumor family that occurs somewhat frequently in the kidney. Most are indolent and discovered incidentally, with rare tumors demonstrating malignant clinical behavior. A small subset of renal AMLs with epithelioid features are associated with aggressive behavior, and may demonstrate morphologic overlap with renal cell carcinomas (e.

Objectives: This article is an evaluation of the current trial processes within a national proton beam therapy (PBT) clinical trial service in the United Kingdom. The work within the article identifies priority challenges associated with the implementation of PBT trials with a view to improving patient trial processes.

Methods: The nominal group technique (NGT) was used.

Background: Prediction of outcomes in perinatal arterial ischemic stroke (PAIS) is challenging. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine whether infarct characteristics can predict outcomes in PAIS.

Methods: A systematic search was conducted using five databases in January 2023.

Background And Objective: Radical prostatectomy (RP) is an established treatment for localised prostate cancer that can have a significant impact on urinary and sexual function, with recovery over time. Our aim was to describe functional recovery in the first year after RP, reporting descriptive outcomes alongside validated patient-reported outcome measure scores (Expanded Prostate Cancer Index Composite, EPIC-26).

Methods: Men undergoing RP between September 2015 and November 2019 completed EPIC-26 at baseline and 1, 3, 6, and 12 mo.
