Red-emitting oxazine fluorophores are shown to bind to cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) with high affinity. Their fluorescence quantum yield and lifetime are thereby enhanced owing to shielding of the dyes from water. Using CB[7] as an imaging additive leads to a larger number of photons detected per molecule in super-resolution experiments with the dye ATTO655.

The detailed examination of the codons preferentially used by SARS-CoV-2 shows a strong preference for Lys, Gln, Glu, and Arg, which are infrequently used in human genes. In the absence of an adapted tRNA pool, efficient decoding of these codons requires a 5-methoxycarbonylmethyl-2-thiouridine (mcms) modification at the U wobble position of the corresponding tRNAs (tLys; tGln; tGlu; tArg).

In healthy people, a fall in plasma glucose stimulates glucagon release and thereby increases counter-regulatory hepatic glucose production. This response is absent in many patients with type-1 diabetes (T1D), which predisposes to severe hypoglycaemia that may be fatal and accounts for up to 10% of the mortality in patients with T1D.

They are recruited to viral replication complexes formed by the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV), Semliki Forest virus (SFV), and Sindbis virus (SINV) an interaction with a duplicated FGxF motif conserved in the hypervariable domain (HVD) of virus-encoded nsP3. According to mutagenesis studies, this FGxF duplication is strictly required for G3BP binding and optimal viral growth.

Moreover, some arboviral infections can be associated with important neuroinflammation that can trigger neurological disorders including encephalitis, paralysis, ophthalmological impairments, or developmental defects, which in some cases, can lead to long-term defects of the central nervous system (CNS).
