Kawasaki disease is an acute systemic vasculitis and is the leading cause of acquired cardiac disease in children. Among the ocular manifestations in these patients, bilateral non-suppurative conjunctival injection and uveitis are the most common. We describe a six-year-old Costa Rican girl with acute Kawasaki disease who developed severe bilateral conjunctival injection with subsequent bilateral subconjunctival hemorrhages.
