Chronic venous disease (CVD) is a prevalent vascular issue that can lead to complications like edema and ulcers, and elevated central venous pressure (CVP) may occur alongside obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), but their prevalence in CVD patients is not well-known.
A study at a tertiary care center assessed 264 CVD patients for elevated CVP and OSA using duplex ultrasound and echocardiography, finding that 22.7% had elevated CVP while 26.9% had OSA, with no significant differences in obesity rates between groups.
Significant predictors for elevated CVP included age over 64.6 years, diabetes mellitus, and more severe venous symptoms, suggesting that larger population studies are needed
