CT diagnosis of appendiceal intussusception in a middle-aged female.

Appendiceal intussusception is rare with an estimated incidence of 0.01%. Although it is infrequently encountered, the few documented cases of this entity have shown it may mimic or indicate an underlying neoplasm when evaluated with colonoscopy.

Yttrium-90 Radioembolization of Metastatic Adrenocortical Carcinoma to the Liver following Systemic Chemotherapy and Surgical Resection of the Primary Lesion.

Use of yttrium-90 (Y-90) is used for primary liver tumors and a handful of liver metastatic lesions. Y-90 treatment for metastatic adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) to the liver is currently off-label, with one previously documented case report. In this case report, we present a 52-year-old woman with ACC and extensive liver metastatic disease.

Varicocele: A Review.

Varicoceles are relatively common clinical problem that are associated with pain, testicular atrophy, and reduced fertility rates. After a brief historical perspective is presented, this article reviews the anatomy, indications, treatment options, and potential complications related to varicoceles.

Dual Energy Spectral CT Imaging for Colorectal Cancer Grading: A Preliminary Study.

Objectives: To assess the diagnostic value of dual energy spectral CT imaging for colorectal cancer grading using the quantitative iodine density measurements in both arterial phase (AP) and venous phase (VP).

Methods: 81 colorectal cancer patients were divided into two groups based on their pathological findings: a low grade group including well (n = 13) and moderately differentiated cancer (n = 24), and a high grade group including poorly differentiated (n = 42) and signet ring cell cancer (n = 2). Iodine density (ID) in the lesions was derived from the iodine-based material decomposition (MD) image and normalized to that in the psoas muscle to obtain normalized iodine density (NID).

90Y Radioembolization of Colorectal Hepatic Metastases Using Glass Microspheres: Safety and Survival Outcomes from a 531-Patient Multicenter Study.

Unlabelled: Hepatic metastases of colorectal carcinoma are a leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Most colorectal liver metastases become refractory to chemotherapy and biologic agents, at which point the median overall survival declines to 4-5 mo. Radioembolization with (90)Y has been used in the salvage setting with favorable outcomes.
