The cyano-cyclopentadiene molecule (CN-CH) has attracted significant interest since its detection in the interstellar medium, but the radical (CN-CH) and anionic (CN-CH) forms of cyano-cyclopentadiene have not been studied. The cyano-cyclopentadienyl radical (CN-Cp) has a strong dipole moment, rendering it an ideal system for vibrational and rotational spectroscopy. We report an investigation of the cryogenically cooled cyano-cyclopentadienide anion (CN-Cp) using high-resolution photoelectron imaging, photodetachment spectroscopy, and resonant photoelectron imaging.

We describe a multimodal dataset of paired head and eye movements acquired in controlled virtual reality environments. Our dataset includes head and eye movement for n = 25 participants who interacted with four different virtual reality environments that required coordinated head and eye behaviors. Our data collection involved two visual tracking tasks and two visual searching tasks.

Purpose: To biomechanically compare primary medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) repair (MPFLr) augmented with a reinforced bioinductive implant (RBI) to the native MPFL ligament and a semitendinosus (semi-T) MPFL reconstruction (MPFLR) at time zero.

Methods: Four fresh-frozen matched pair cadavers (8 knees) were used to biomechanically compare the native MPFL to augmented MPFLr (n = 4) and semi-T MPFLR (n = 4). The native MPFL (n = 8) was isolated, preserving the femoral and patellar attachments, and pulled to failure.

Isolated mixed-ligand complexes provide tractable model systems in which to study competitive and cooperative binding effects as well as controlled energy flow. Here, we report spectroscopic and isotopologue-selective infrared photofragmentation dynamics of mixed gas-phase Au(CO)(NO) complexes. The rich infrared action spectra, which are reproduced well using simulations of calculated lowest energy structures, clarify previous ambiguities in the assignment of vibrational bands, especially accidental coincidence of CO and NO bands.

Kelp forests are threatened by ocean warming, yet effects of co-occurring drivers such as CO are rarely considered when predicting their performance in the future. Background: Over one thousand pediatric kidney transplant candidates are added to the waitlist annually, yet the prospective time spent waiting is unknown for many. Our study fills this gap by identifying variables that impact waitlist time and by creating an index to predict the likelihood of a pediatric candidate receiving a transplant within 1 year of listing. This index could be used to guide patient management by giving clinicians a potential timeline for each candidate's listing based on a unique combination of risk factors.

In this study, mixed carbonyl and nitrous oxide complexes with Rh were studied by mass-selective infrared photodissociation spectroscopy in a molecular beam. The infrared spectra, recorded in the region of the CO and NO N═N stretches, were assigned and interpreted with the aid of simulated spectra of low-energy structural isomers. Clear evidence of an inner coordination shell of four ligands is observed.

Immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) is an increasingly common and serious condition in which autoantibodies attack muscle fibers causing clinically significant muscle weakness, fatigue, and myalgias. Recognizing the clinical presentation of IMNM is difficult but necessary, as rapid intervention decreases morbidity. We present a case of a 53-year-old female with IMNM induced by statin therapy with confirmed anti-3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase antibodies present on serologic testing.

We present a combined experimental and quantum chemical study of gas-phase group 9 metal nitrosyl complexes, M(NO) (M = Co, Rh, Ir). Experimental infrared photodissociation spectra of mass-selected ion-molecule complexes are presented in the region 1600 cm to 2000 cm which includes the NO stretch. These are interpreted by comparison with the simulated spectra of energetically low-lying structures calculated using density functional theory.
