Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the perceived knowledge of fall prevention in nurses working in hospitals in China and the United States.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey with 17 items was used to measure perceived knowledge of fall prevention of nurses working in hospitals in China and the United States.

Results: A total of 1442 nurses at 2 hospitals completed the survey in China (90% return rate), and 260 nurses in 2 hospitals in the United States (42% return rate) for a total sample size of 1702.

The authors describe an innovative teaching strategy using art to express personal philosophy of nursing. This teaching strategy gives students and faculty an opportunity to be creative and to express their personal feelings about the nature of nursing.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a preservice education family mentor experience on the development of family-centered attitudes expressed by 84 nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and social work students from a private Midwestern university. The instrument, Issues in Early Intervention, was administered to students before and after participation in a field experience that included a minimum of 8 hours with assigned families. The instrument measured changes in attitude regarding family-centered care expressed by students in response to 24 statements reflective of family-centered concepts and approaches.
