Human Parvovirus B19 (B19V) is rarely observed in patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome. We report the case of a patient with rapidly progressive functional impotence of the limbs. B19V was detected in both blood and CSF samples.

However, after the initial peak at around 3 weeks post-vaccination, anti-spike antibody levels decline. Post-booster kinetics of cellular response has been less investigated and there is no documented evidence of a true boosting effect.

Design: This qualitative improvement study aimed to provide a prospective validation of SARS-CoV-2 detection in male semen. The SARS-CoV-2 genome was detected by multiplex real-time RT-PCR on patient samples that underwent routine semen analyses for infertility at the Center for Reproductive Medicine at the University Hospital of Clermont-Ferrand. Samples comprised surplus semen collected for treatment with assisted reproductive technology.
From COVID pandemic spread until now, many HSCT unrelated donor registries recommend as a precaution a systematic COVID-19 testing for all donors during the precollection time. Literature is quite poor to support this systematic attitude. We report one sibling allogeneic HSCT which we proceeded despite a positive COVID test on related asymptomatic donor and summarize the all seven cases reported until now.

Methods: Since December 2021, the surveillance of Delta/Omicron SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOC) circulation was performed through prospective screening of positive-samples using single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) PCR assays targeting SARS-CoV-2 S-gene mutations K417N (Omicron specific) and L452R (Delta specific). Samples showing unexpected mutational profiles were further submitted to whole genome sequencing (WGS) using three different primer sets.
Clinical trials and real-world evidence on COVID-19 vaccines have shown their effectiveness against severe disease and death but the durability of protection remains unknown. We analysed the humoral and T-cell immune responses in 110 healthcare workers (HCWs) vaccinated according to the manufacturer's recommended schedule of dose 2 three weeks after dose 1 from a prospective on-going cohort in early 2021, 3 and 6 months after full vaccination with the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine. Anti-RBD IgG titres were lower in HCWs over 60 years old 3 months after the second dose (p=0.

Materials And Methods: We performed a single-center retrospective study in 123 ICU patients who had undergone respiratory virus testing for CAP by mPCR and with known one-year survival status. Functional status including dyspnea (mMRC score), autonomy (ADL Katz score) and need for new home-care ventilatory support was assessed at a one-year post-ICU follow-up.
Background: Human rhinoviruses (HRVs) are frequent etiologic agents of tract infections, ranging from benign upper to potentially life-threatening lower respiratory tract infections. Diagnosis is based on molecular methods. 169 HRV types, belonging to species A, B and C, have been identified.

Methods: We determined viral loads in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of 156 patients of all ages with EV meningitis during a 5-year observational prospective study.
Human bocavirus has rarely been incriminated in fatal or life-threatening respiratory infections. We report a case of fatal disseminated infection with subacute lymphocytic myocarditis in a 13-month-old child. The human bocavirus 2 genome was detected by PCR analysis in nasal swab, plasma, urine, ascitic fluid, and mesenteric node, skeletal muscle, and lung tissue specimens.

Usually, such patients have been heavily pre-treated and present at relapse with a relatively refractory disease. Immunomodulatory properties of lenalidomide may be beneficial by facilitating a graft-versus-myeloma effect after allogeneic stem cell transplantation.

HPeV infection was diagnosed in 4 infants (<4 months) and all genotyped viruses were HPeV3.

TEM-158 was found to include the substitutions previously observed for TEM-12 and TEM-35. This enzyme presented hydrolytic activity against ceftazidime and a high level of resistance against clavulanate, which can alter its detection. Its discovery highlights the need for accurate detection methods.

Orbital spread with secondary maxillary sinus involvement is reported in the first case. Method: A combination with IFN and antinucleoside [AZT or zalcitabine (ddC)] was applied since 1995 in Martinique (French West Indies).
Over a period of 2 months, a 60-year-old man, a chicken breeder, experienced low back pain, lower limb weakness predominant on the right side, and urinary difficulties, leading progressively to a flaccid paraplegia with sphincter impairment. Concomitant poor cognitive performances were noted. MRI showed enlargement of the conus terminalis, with a low-intensity signal on T1-weighted images, high-intensity signal on T2-weighted images, and areas of intramedullar contrast enhancement.
