Objectives: To evaluate if the tumour perfusion at the initial MRI scan is a marker of prognosis for survival in patients diagnosed with High Grade Gliomas (HGG). To analyse the risk factors which influence on the mortality from HGG to quantify the overall survival to be expected in patients.
Patients And Methods: The patients diagnosed with HGG through a MRI scan in a third-level hospital between 2017 and 2019 were selected.
Introduction: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is widely used for the diagnosis and follow-up of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Coordination between neurology and neuroradiology departments is crucial for performing and interpreting radiological studies as efficiently and as accurately as possible. However, improvements can be made in the communication between these departments in many Spanish hospitals.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective, single-centre study including 235 patients with AIS who underwent intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (IV-rtPA) therapy and/or endovascular treatment.

Material And Methods: This was a retrospective study of consecutive patients with posterior circulation strokes treated with stent-retrievers at our center between December 1, 2011 and May 1, 2018. The main outcome variables were the rate of recanalization according to the Thrombosis in Cerebral Infarction (TICI) scale and functional independence score 90 days after treatment according to the modified Rankin Scale (mRS).

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intracranial stenting as a rescue therapy after failed mechanical thrombectomy in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Material And Methods: We retrospectively studied 42 patients treated with intracranial stenting after failed mechanical thrombectomy between December 2008 and January 2016. We compared outcomes before and after the incorporation of stentrievers.
Chordoma is a rare, slow-growing tumour arising from remnants of the notochord. It is most often located in the base of the skull and the sacrococcygeal region, being located in the cervical region in only 6% of cases. A rare case is presented of a left para-spinal chordoma, of which less than 10 cases have been reported in literature.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground And Purpose: Surgery is known to have fewer adverse events in patients aged >75 years with carotid stenosis, but some are not candidates due to comorbidity. Stenting using protection devices is the most accepted endovascular technique. Our aim is to show the safety and efficacy of carotid stenting without any protection device in these patients.

Methods: LSMRI performed prospectively on 602 patients in 12 Radiology Services across 6 regions in Spain, were classified as "appropriate", "uncertain" or "inappropriate" based on the indication criteria established by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, the American College of Physicians and Radiology, and current evidence-based clinical guidelines. Studies on patients reporting at least one "red flag" were classified as "appropriate".
Introduction: Cerebral infarction is a very rare presenting symptom of a meningioma. This form of clinical onset poses the challenge of treating ischaemic events before dealing with the tumour surgically.
Case Report: A 48-year-old woman from Georgia who visited due to loss of strength in the right-hand side of the body, intense headache and self-limiting episodes of forgetting her own language.
Lemierre syndrome (LS) typically consists of a septic thrombophlebitis of the internal jugular vein caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum. We present an unusual variant of LS with cavernous sinus thrombosis and occlusion of the ipsilateral internal carotid artery secondary to sphenoid sinusitis caused by Streptococcus viridans.

Paradoxically it is open to question because it can lead to potential embolic complications. The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of CASWPD in patients with severe symptomatic carotid artery stenosis.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTympanic paragangliomas usually present as a vascular middle ear mass, with the most common presenting symptoms being pulsatile tinnitus and hearing loss. We report an unusual case of a recurrent tympanic paraganglioma extending along the Eustachian tube and nasopharynx, presenting with recurrent epistaxis.

Study Design: Review of prospectively collected data.
Setting: Academic referral center.
Objective: To determine the interobserver agreement in the interpretation of MR angiography (MRA) studies for surveillance of embolized intracranial aneurysms. To determine whether contrast administration improves interobserver agreement.
Material And Methods: Two experienced neuroradiologists independently reviewed all follow-up MRA studies performed between July 2004 and December 2006 of cerebral aneurysms embolized with coils.
