A 58-year-old man presented to his practitioner with right-sided pleuritic chest pain, dyspnea, and fatigue 18 days following the first dose of the ChAdOx1 nCov-19 vaccine. Chest radiography showed a basal wedge-shaped consolidation indicative of a Hampton’s hump in the right lower lobe, which was confirmed by subsequent computed tomography pulmonary angiography. The major laboratory abnormalities were a markedly elevated D-dimer level of 7.

Their ability to maintain and promote differentiated characteristics was judged by tritiated thymidine incorporation, immunologic detection of a cytokeratin-like protein (CP49) which accumulates during lens fiber development, and the formation of multicellular aggregates known as lentoids. Regardless of their composition, planar substrates stimulated the reentry into the cell cycle by promoting cell spreading.

In this paper the results of these studies, expressed primarily as MIC90S, are reviewed and analysed for centre to centre variability. Twenty thousand eight hundred and seven strains were evaluable for comparative analysis.

For this purpose, the arteries in the pelvis, thigh and knee of 42 patients were examined by CDS, the gold standard being angiography. In ten patients, pulsed Doppler sonography was performed as well and the length of the examination compared with that of CDS.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAngiodynography is a newly developed system that enables Doppler sonography to be used to obtain a colour-coded real-time image of the blood vessels in the familiar ultrasound slice image. A new computerised technique allows both the familiar pulse echo signal and the Doppler shift of the signal resulting from movement in the body to be displayed for each point on the ultrasound slice plane. Stationary tissue structures are shown as the familiar grey scale image, while movement such as of the blood is shown in colour.

In this study, the carotid arteries of 92 patients were examined comparing duplex sonography with Doppler colour flow imaging. Efficiency of these methods was evaluated by angiography in 16 patients.

The sections were performed on the same planes as used in US and CT scanning. The ultrasound studies were carried out with 20 young and healthy volunteers.
