Introduction: The Rocky Mountain Network of Oral Health is 1 of 3 regional projects funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (2019 to 2024) focusing on caries prevention through medical-dental integration (MDI) in community health centers (CHCs). MDI models included provision of preventive oral health services (POHS) at medical visits by the medical team (model 1), by integrated dental hygienists (DHs; model 2), or a hybrid of these models (model 3). The overarching aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of these models on 3 objectives: (1) ≥50% receive POHS, (2) ≥75% with high caries risk receives dental referral, and (3) ≥30% of parents/caregivers set an oral health goal for the child.

Purpose: To develop a Dixon-based self-navigation approach to estimate and correct temporal variations in radial stack-of-stars gradient echo imaging for quantitative body MRI.
Methods: The proposed method estimates temporal variations using a self-navigator estimated by a graph-cut-based water-fat separation algorithm on the oversampled k-space center. The self-navigator was employed to correct for phase differences between radial spokes (one-dimensional [1D] correction) and to perform a motion-resolved reconstruction to correct spatiotemporal pseudo-periodic variations (three-dimensional [3D] correction).
Ion transport is essential to energy storage, cellular signalling and desalination. Polymers have been explored for decades as solid-state electrolytes by either adding salt to polar polymers or tethering ions to the backbone to create less flammable and more robust systems. New design paradigms are needed to advance the performance of solid polymer electrolytes beyond conventional systems.

CSHCN have high rates of poor oral health, including cavities. This study aimed to compare oral health status between CMC and CSHCN.

Despite these structural similarities, recent research has shed light on the distinct roles these ligands play within muscle tissue. This study aims to uncover both the differences and similarities in gene expression at the transcriptome level by utilizing RNA sequencing.

Environmental inequity, driven by a history of racially motivated urban planning policies, has led particular demographics to bear the worst impacts of urban heat exposure and thus also climate change. These impacts cause adverse health outcomes in the form of heat emergencies.

Both diseases are often caused by the consumption of contaminated, insufficiently heated poultry meat. This can result from contamination of the meat during the slaughtering processes.

We examined the medical records of 286 eyes that underwent trabeculectomy between 2008 and 2009 at the University Eye Hospital in Freiburg, Germany. Preoperative and follow-up data were collected, including intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements, surgical glaucoma interventions, and prescribed glaucoma medication.

Unlike for single-gap structures, there is no closed-form expression to calculate the output beam parameters from the cavity voltage and phase. To overcome this, we propose to use a method based on the integration of the first and second moments of the beam distribution through the axially symmetric time-dependent fields of the cavity.

We describe a sensitive ac differential resistance bridge that enables measurements of the temperature difference on two sides of a coin cell with a resolution of better than 10 μK. We use this temperature difference metrology to determine the ionic Peltier coefficients of symmetric Li-ion electrochemical cells as a function of Li salt concentration, solvent composition, electrode material, and temperature.

Purpose: The aim of this consensus project was to give recommendations regarding surgical treatment of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injured patient.
Methods: For this consensus process, an expert, steering and rating group was formed. In an initial online meeting, the steering group, together with the expert group, formed various key topic complexes for which multiple questions were formulated.
Template-directed self-assembly of solidifying eutectics results in emergence of unique microstructures due to diffusion constraints and thermal gradients imposed by the template. Here, the importance of selecting the template material based on its conductivity to control heat transfer between the template and the solidifying eutectic, and thus the thermal gradients near the solidification front, is demonstrated. Simulations elucidate the relationship between the thermal properties of the eutectic and template and the resultant microstructure.

One POHS is oral health goal setting (OHGS). This study aimed to evaluate the effect of OHGS during medical visits on parent/caregiver-reported oral health behaviors (OHBs).

Implementing self-healing in thermoset polymers faces significant manufacturing challenges, especially due to the elevated temperature requirements of thermoset processing. To introduce self-healing into structural thermosets, the self-healing system must be thermally stable and compatible with the thermoset chemistry.

Background: Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is still the leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide. While impaired fibrin polymerization plays a crucial role in the development and progress of PPH, recent approaches using viscoelastic measurements have failed to sensitively detect early changes in fibrinolysis in PPH. This study aimed to evaluate whether women experiencing PPH show alterations in POC-VET fibrinolytic potential during childbirth and whether fibrinolytic potential offers benefits in the prediction and treatment of PPH.

However, the process is very sensitive at exposure doses near the photoresist threshold, leading previous work to reliably achieve only a fraction of the available refractive index range for a given material system. Here, we present a method for greatly enhancing the uniformity of the subsurface micro-optics, increasing the reliable index range from 0.

The diffusion of two aromatic dyes with nearly identical sizes was measured in ethylene vitrimers with precise linker lengths and borate ester cross-links using fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP). One dye possessed a reactive hydroxyl group, while the second was inert. The reaction of the hydroxyl group with the network is slow relative to the hopping times of the dye, resulting in a large slowdown by a factor of 50 for a reactive probe molecule.
