Background: Thrombopoietin receptor agonists (TPO-RAs) have demonstrated efficacy in treating clinically significant thrombocytopenia, including chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia in adults. However, data regarding their safety and efficacy in pediatric, adolescents, and young adult (AYA) patients with hematologic malignancies are limited.
Methods: We retrospectively identified 15 pediatric and AYA patients aged 25 years or younger with hematologic malignancies treated with a TPO-RA at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals between 2015 and 2023.
The study aimed to establish a long-term 3D cell culture model using luteinized follicular cells to investigate the functionality and life cycle of the CL in felids. A mixture of cell types from antral follicles was luteinized in vitro and cultured for up to 23 days. The method, initially applied to the domestic cat, was later extended to Persian and Clouded leopards.

In this work we demonstrate the first laboratory study results of lens fragmentation with low-energy picosecond ultrashort laser pulses after artificial induction of cataract with microwave radiation on an ex vivo animal model. This method will be evaluated with regard to the further development of lens fragmentation with novel ultrashort picosecond laser systems instead of ultrasonic phacoemulsification or the significantly more complex femtosecond laser fragmentation. Background And Purpose: The aim was to determine the value of autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (aHSCT) as a therapeutic intervention for progressive multiple sclerosis (PMS) based on a systematic review of the current literature.
Methods: All studies from the databases PubMed and Google Scholar published in English before February 2024 which provided individual data for PMS patients were systematically reviewed. PICO was defined as population (P), primary progressive MS and secondary progressive MS patients; intervention (I), treatment with aHSCT; comparison (C), none, disease-modifying therapy treated/relapsing-remitting MS cohorts if available; outcome (O), transplant-related mortality, progression-free survival (PFS) and no evidence of disease activity.

Purpose: This work demonstrates significant advantages in ophthalmic surgeries through the use of picosecond ultrashort laser pulses instead of state-of-the-art nanosecond laser pulses. These ultrashort lasers shall serve as universal tools more effectively combining advantages of high precision, low impact and economic advantages compared to existing instruments.
Methods: As samples, we used post-mortem porcine eyes on which we performed the experiments with both picosecond and nanosecond lasers.
