Inkjet printing techniques are often used for bioprinting purposes because of their excellent printing characteristics, such as high cell viability and low apoptotic rate, contactless modus operandi, commercial availability, and low cost. However, they face some disadvantages, such as the use of bioinks of low viscosity, cell damage due to shear stress caused by drop ejection and jetting velocity, as well as a narrow range of available bioinks that still challenge the inkjet printing technology. New technological solutions are required to overcome these obstacles.

Accurate measurement of core temperature is of utmost importance during on-pump cardiac surgery, for detection of hypothermia before cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), guidance of temperature management on CPB, active rewarming on CPB and guidance of warming therapy after CPB. Most temperature measurement methods are known to become inaccurate during rapid changes in core temperature and suffer from delayed detection of temperature changes. Anti-NMDA receptor autoantibodies (NMDAR-Abs) in patients with NMDAR encephalitis cause severe disease symptoms resembling psychosis and cause cognitive dysfunction. After passive transfer of patients' cerebrospinal fluid or human monoclonal anti-GluN1-autoantibodies in mice, we find a disrupted excitatory-inhibitory balance resulting from CA1 neuronal hypoexcitability, reduced AMPA receptor (AMPAR) signaling, and faster synaptic inhibition in acute hippocampal slices. Functional alterations are also reflected in widespread remodeling of the hippocampal proteome, including changes in glutamatergic and GABAergic neurotransmission.
