We examined TikTok user engagement when parents post videos engaging in psychological maltreatment (PM) behaviors towards their children, using the APSAC-endorsed definition of PM. A new TikTok account was created and seeded with PM behavior videos identified previously; similar videos then appeared on the new account's "For You Page" (an algorithmic feed curated by TikTok). Researchers identified 35 creators who had posted at least one PM behavior video, resulting in their full profile being coded ( = 2684 videos) for five engagement metrics, presence of children, and presence of PM behavior.

We compared the potential of dietary lipid supplements of different fatty acid compositions to affect milk performance when early lactation dairy goats were fed a high-concentrate diet. Thirty Alpine goats at 23 ± 5 d in milk were allocated to 1 of 10 blocks according to parity and milk fat concentration. Within each block, goats were randomly assigned to receive, during a period of 41 d, either CONT) a basal diet with a forage to concentrate ratio of 45:55, used as control, or PALM) the basal diet + 2% of a palmitic acid-enriched fat supplement, or FLAX) the basal diet + 7% of extruded flaxseed.

Although most persons with a schizophrenia-spectrum disorder are not aggressive, a minority is at higher risks to commit violent acts, especially in forensic settings. The first goal of this study was to assess inpatients in a maximum-security hospital with a self-report questionnaire, neuropsychological tests of behavioral impulsivity/attentional capacities and olfactory functions to determine the strength of association between these measures. A secondary objective was to assess the predictive value of these measures for the commission of violent acts within the institution.

Background: The traditional management of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is thyroidectomy (total or partial removal of the thyroid). Active surveillance (AS) may be considered as an alternative option for small, low risk PTC. AS involves close follow-up (including regularly scheduled clinical and radiological assessments), with the intention of intervening with surgery for disease progression or patient preference.

Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to determine which patients with intermediate-risk prostate cancer could safely reduce their treatment intensity, specifically regarding androgen deprivation therapy and radiation dose.
  • The original trial included 600 patients and compared different treatment regimens while analyzing outcomes based on intermediate risk factors like Gleason score and prostate-specific antigen levels.
  • Results indicated that patients with favorable intermediate risk had similar outcomes across treatment arms, while those with unfavorable intermediate risk faced worse survival rates and responded better to treatments involving androgen deprivation therapy.

This study investigated the use of KCO as dietary buffer to prevent or to recover from low milk fat production when early-lactating dairy goats are fed a high-starch, low-fiber (HSLF) diet. At kidding, 30 Alpine goats housed in pens with Calan gate feeders received a total mixed ration with a forage-to-concentrate ratio of 55:45 on a dry matter (DM) basis for a baseline period of 27 ± 4 d. Goats (milk yield, 4.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigated the effects of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) combined with either standard or higher doses of radiotherapy (RT) on patients with intermediate-risk prostate cancer (IRPC).
  • Over 600 patients participated in a trial comparing outcomes among three treatment groups: ADT + RT 70 Gy, ADT + dose-escalated RT 76 Gy, and RT 76 Gy alone.
  • Results showed that the highest biochemical failure rates and prostate cancer progression were linked to RT 76 Gy alone, while adding ADT improved outcomes without increasing overall survival, although higher doses of RT led to more gastrointestinal toxicity.

Objectives: Little is known about cardiac hemodynamics in the fetus with transposition of the great arteries and intact ventricular septum (TGA-IVS). Better understanding of the fetal physiology in TGA-IVS would help to provide insights into specific clinical complications observed after birth, in particular neonatal hypoxia and pulmonary hypertension. The aim of this study was to assess cardiac hemodynamics in fetuses with TGA-IVS by performing systematic longitudinal echocardiographic follow-up from diagnosis to delivery.

Background: Psychological maltreatment (PM) is equivalent in harm to other forms of child maltreatment and yet it is not included in all US State child abuse statutes and past research using the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS, 1998, 2007, 2008) identified 300-480-fold differences in substantiated cases across US States. This variation is inconsistent with the significance of the problem and the availability of reliable operational definitions.

Participants And Setting: US State statutes were coded and compared with reported rates of four different forms of child maltreatment in the 2014 and 1998 NCANDS data sets.

Background: The relationship between interatrial communication, ductus arteriosus, and pulmonary flow in transposition of the great arteries and intact ventricular septum may help predict postnatal desaturation.

Methods: Echocardiographic data of 45 fetuses with transposition of the great arteries and intact ventricular septum and 50 age-matched controls were retrospectively reviewed. Interatrial communication, left and right ventricular output, flow in the ductus arteriosus, as well as effective pulmonary flow were measured.

Objectives: As postnatal identification of accelerated idioventricular rhythm (AIVR) relies on specific electrocardiographic patterns, prenatal diagnosis of this condition is challenging and its true incidence is unknown. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the performance of prenatal ultrasonography in identifying intrauterine cardiocirculatory events linked to specific electrocardiographic signs of postnatal AIVR, including left or right ventricular origin, and to assess the prenatal prognosis of this arrhythmia.

Methods: We reviewed Doppler tracings from the superior vena cava/ascending aorta (SVC/Ao), ductus venosus (DV), ductus arteriosus (DA) and aortic isthmus (AoI), as well as simultaneous M-mode recordings of septal and left ventricular wall motions of fetuses diagnosed with AIVR from January 2004 to December 2014.
