Enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography of choroidal osteoma with secondary neovascular membranes: report of two cases.

We report enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) features based on clinical and imaging data from two newly diagnosed cases of choroidal osteoma presenting with recent visual loss secondary to choroidal neovascular membranes. The features described in the two cases, compression of the choriocapillaris and disorganization of the medium and large vessel layers, are consistent with those of previous reports. We noticed a sponge-like pattern previously reported, but it was subtle.

Laryngeal schwannoma: a case report with emphasis on sonographic findings.

Schwannomas are benign nerve sheath tumors composed of Schwann cells, which normally produce the insulating myelin sheath covering peripheral, cranial and autonomic nerves. Twenty-five to forty-five percent of all schwannomas occur in the head and neck region, but location of such tumors in the larynx is rarely observed. The present report is aimed at describing a clinical case of laryngeal schwannoma, with emphasis on sonographic findings.

Optical Coherence Tomography Findings of the Acute Exudative Polymorphous Vitelliform Maculopathy.

The optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings of a 26-year-old HIV-positive male with acute exudative polymorphous vitelliform maculopathy were described. His with best-corrected visual acuity at the presentation of the disease was 20/25 in the right eye and 20/30 in the left eye. Fundus examination showed bilateral yellowish subretinal lesions arranged in a honeycombed pattern throughout the posterior pole in both eyes.

Photodynamic therapy for bilateral and simultaneous choroidal neovascularization in stargardt disease.

Background: Stargardt disease may lead to chronic destructive changes to the retinal pigment epithelium and secondarily cause a lesion in the Bruch membrane, predisposing to subsequent subretinal choroidal neovascularization (CNV).

Methods: The authors report an angiographically documented, bilateral, and simultaneous case of CNV in Stargardt disease that was successfully treated with photodynamic therapy (PDT).

Results: A 53-year-old man with unequivocal Stargardt disease presented with CNV in both eyes simultaneously.

Adverse events after intravitreal triamcinolone in patients with and without uveitis.
