The adoption of comprehensive genomic profiling in oncology has rapidly increased the demand for standardized tumor sample processing in diagnostic laboratories. Automation of DNA and RNA library preparation workflows offers the possibility to scale-up and standardize sample processing. We report on the clinical implementation of the automated TruSight Oncology 500 High-Throughput library preparation workflow from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tumor samples using the Biomek i7 hybrid Workstation.

Investigating the Radiobiological Response to Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy Using Patient-Derived Meningioma Spheroids.

Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) using Lu-DOTA-TATE has recently been evaluated for the treatment of meningioma patients. However, current knowledge of the underlying radiation biology is limited, in part due to the lack of appropriate in vitro models. Here, we demonstrate proof-of-concept of a meningioma patient-derived 3D culture model to assess the short-term response to radiation therapies such as PRRT and external beam radiotherapy (EBRT).

Purpose: This study explored employee health behavior changes and health care utilization after workplace genetic testing (wGT). Wellness-program-associated wGT seeks to improve employee health, but the related health implications are unknown.

Methods: Employees of a large US health care system offering wGT (cancer, heart disease, and pharmacogenomics [PGx]) were sent electronic surveys.

Objective: Cluster headache is associated with a decreased quality of life (QoL). The increased focus on patient-reported outcome measures (PROMS) has led to the creation of a tailored Cluster Headache Quality of Life scale (CHQ). Our objective was to create and authenticate a Dutch version of the CHQ (CHQ-D).

Although tau is almost quantitatively bound to microtubules under physiological conditions, it does not significantly affect axonal transport.

Attacks of cluster headache (CH) are usually side-locked in most, but not all, patients. In a few patients, the side may alternate between or, rarely, within cluster episodes. We observed seven cases in whom the side of CH attacks temporarily shifted immediately or shortly after unilateral injection of the greater occipital nerve (GON) with corticosteroids.

The assessment of valvular pathologies in multiple valvular heart disease by echocardiography remains challenging. Data on echocardiographic assessment-especially in patients with combined aortic and mitral regurgitation-are rare in the literature. The proposed integrative approach using semi-quantitative parameters to grade the severity of regurgitation often yields inconsistent findings and results in misinterpretation.

Biocellulose patch technique for fetoscopic repair of open spina bifida in twin pregnancy.

Objectives: Twin pregnancy is currently an exclusion criterion for prenatal repair of open spina bifida (OSB). The main objective of this study was to report on our experience of treating twin pregnancies with OSB using the skin-over-biocellulose for antenatal fetoscopic repair (SAFER) technique. We also discuss reconsideration of the current exclusion criteria for fetal OSB repair.

Special issue on "Cytoskeletal proteins in health and neurodegenerative disease: Concepts and methods".

Since 2016, when we compiled a very well-received special issue on "Cytoskeletal Proteins in Health and Neurodegenerative Disease" for Brain Research Bulletin, the field has rapidly evolved, to a large part thanks to the development and maturation of new methods including super-resolution microscopy. Being asked to create a sequel, we therefore decided to keep the main topic, but focus on emerging concepts and novel methods. As before, we compiled nine articles on the role of the neuronal cytoskeleton in both physiological and pathological conditions.
