Objective: To identify risk factors for tracheostomy among infants born < 33 week gestational age.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective matched case-control study of infants < 33 week gestation who underwent tracheostomy between 2000 and 2018 at a single level IV NICU. For each case, we identified two controls matched for gestational age ± 1 week and birthweight ± 100 g who were admitted during the same year.

Background And Objectives: Socioeconomic factors are associated with health outcomes and can affect postoperative length of stay after congenital heart disease (CHD) surgery. The hypothesis of this study is that patients from neighborhoods with a disadvantaged socioeconomic status (SES) have a prolonged length of hospital stay after CHD surgery.

Methods: Pre- and postoperative data were collected on patients who underwent CHD surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center between 2011 and 2019.
