Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma: A rare case in an unusual location.

Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma, also known as Evans tumor, is a low-grade sarcoma that most commonly arises in the deep soft tissue of the proximal extremities or trunk in young adults. It is very rare in the viscera as a primary site, with only a few cases reported in the literature. Here, we present a case of Evans tumor occurring in an unusual and rarely reported location; an intrathoracic mass arising from the diaphragmatic pleura.

Adenocarcinoma of the minor duodenal papilla and its precursor lesions: a clinical and pathologic study.

The minor duodenal papilla drains the accessory pancreatic duct of Santorini and lies proximal to the ampulla of Vater. Adenocarcinoma and its precursor lesions arising in the minor papilla are rare. Literature data thus far are limited to a few individual case reports, and the condition is consequently poorly defined.

Acute infectious purpura fulminans (AIPF) is a rare syndrome of hemorrhagic infarction of the skin, extremity loss, and intravascular thrombosis. It progresses rapidly and is accompanied by disseminated intravascular coagulation and vascular collapse. The victims often succumb to the disease.
