Adult intussusception is rare, highly associated with a malignant lead point, and often requires emergent surgical management. We report the case of a 44-year-old male who presented with generalized abdominal pain and was found to have early ileocolic intussusception secondary to a large ileocecal mass. Biopsies of the mass and an enlarged cardiophrenic lymph node, as well as pleural fluid cytology were all consistent with Burkitt lymphoma (BL).

Background: Studies focused on postoperative outcome after oncologic right colectomy are lacking. The main objective was to determine pre-/intraoperative risk factors for anastomotic leak after elective right colon resection for cancer. Secondary objectives were to determine risk factors for postoperative morbidity and mortality.

Introduction: Exercise rehabilitation is a key element of care following lung transplantation; however, little is known about the patients' experience of rehabilitation, or whether it meets the needs of this complex patient group. Background: The medical assessment of Royal Air Force (RAF) aircrew candidates includes the measurement of 39 individual blood parameters, grouped into 9 blood test panels, to detect disqualifying medical condition(s) (DMC). Although this program has run for over 20 yr, its contribution to the assessment of fitness to fly remains unquantified.

Methods: To determine whether blood testing independently identified DMC, the medical records of 589 male and female aircrew candidates, assessed at the RAF Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre during 2009 and 2010, were scrutinized for DMC while blinded to blood results.

However, family carers typically lack the required information and skills to prepare them for such a role. Pilot work has demonstrated that group education programs for family carers can be readily developed; they are feasible, accessible, and useful.
