Therapeutic resistance to androgen receptor (AR)-targeting agents remains a significant clinical problem during the treatment of prostate cancer, with the incidence rate of resistant disease increasing as more men are treated with next-generation AR-targeted therapies. Lineage plasticity and progression to neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) are mechanisms by which prostate tumors lose dependence on androgen signaling and escape treatment. Although many known genetic alterations can predispose tumors to acquiring the NEPC phenotype, it remains unclear what, if any, drivers are essential to this progression.

Accurate labeling of specific layers in the human cerebral cortex is crucial for advancing our understanding of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. Building on recent advancements in ultra-high-resolution ex vivo MRI, we present a novel semi-supervised segmentation model capable of identifying supragranular and infragranular layers in ex vivo MRI with unprecedented precision. On a dataset consisting of 17 whole-hemisphere ex vivo scans at 120 $\mu $m, we propose a Multi-resolution U-Nets framework that integrates global and local structural information, achieving reliable segmentation maps of the entire hemisphere, with Dice scores over 0.

Understanding what others are doing is a fundamental aspect of social cognition and a skill that is arguably linked to visuospatial perspective taking (VPT), the ability to apprehend the spatial layout of a scene from another's perspective. Yet, with few and notable exceptions, action understanding and VPT are rarely studied together. Purpose: Our purpose was to report on a novel method of identifying variables associated with challenging behaviors in natural interactions between mothers and their adolescents with Fragile X syndrome (FXS).

Methods: Videotaped interactions of 47 dyads interacting with an iPad game, completing a puzzle, and making a snack and were coded for challenging behaviors by adolescents with FXS, and maternal behaviors that preceded these behaviors. We described the frequencies of adolescent challenging behaviors, then used sequential and survival analyses to identify maternal and adolescent behaviors that preceded self-injurious behavior (SIB) and aggression.

Filamentous fungi are known to secrete biochemicals that drive the synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) that vary in composition, size, and shape; a process deemed mycosynthesis. Following the introduction of precursor salts directly to the fungal mycelia or their exudates, mycosynthesis proceeds at ambient temperature and pressure, and near neutral pH, presenting significant energy and cost savings over traditional chemical or physical approaches. The mycosynthesis of zinc oxide (ZnO) NPs by various fungi exhibited a species dependent morphological preference for the resulting NPs, suggesting that key differences in the biochemical makeup of their individual exudates may regulate the controlled nucleation and growth of these different morphologies.

Antimicrobial usage (AMU) could be reduced by differentiating the causative bacteria in cases of clinical mastitis (CM) as either Gram-positive or Gram-negative bacteria or identifying whether the case is culture-negative (no growth, NG) mastitis. Immunoassays for biomarker analysis and a Tandem Mass Tag (TMT) proteomic investigation were employed to identify differences between samples of milk from cows with CM caused by different bacteria. A total of 94 milk samples were collected from cows diagnosed with CM across seven farms in Scotland, categorized by severity as mild (score 1), moderate (score 2), or severe (score 3).

In the complex tumor microenvironment (TME), mesenchymal cells are key players, yet their specific roles in prostate cancer (PCa) progression remain to be fully deciphered. This study employs single-cell RNA sequencing to delineate molecular changes in tumor stroma that influence PCa progression and metastasis.
