Fresh produce is an important source of foodborne outbreaks in Australia. Using descriptive analysis, we examined confirmed and suspected foodborne outbreaks associated with fresh produce in Australia recorded in the OzFoodNet outbreak register from 2001 to 2017. The outbreak register contains reports of foodborne disease outbreaks collected by OzFoodNet epidemiologists and public health officials.

There are no clinically approved medications targeting excess Fe2+ associated with FA or the neurological disorders Parkinson's disease and Multiple System Atrophy. Traditional iron-chelating drugs clinically approved for systemic iron overload that target ferritin-stored Fe3+ for urinary excretion demonstrated limited efficacy in FA and exacerbated ataxia.

Critical hurdles inhibiting clinical success include poor understanding of nanomedicines' physicochemical properties, limited exposure in the cell or tissue of interest, poor reproducibility of preclinical outcomes in clinical trials, and biocompatibility concerns.

Methods: A cross-sectional, nationwide, multicenter sample of women with HPV infection was conducted throughout clinics of gynecology representative of the Spanish population with regard to age, geographic density, and autonomous regions.
Objective: To determine the prevalence and the risk factors for anal high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia and anal cancer (HSIL+) in women with HIV (WWH), and to compare them to women without HIV with other risk factors.
Design: Prospective cohort study.
Methods: WWH and women without HIV with other risk factors were included.
Introduction: Human papillomavirus (HPV) diagnosis has a considerable emotional and psychological impact on women. To evaluate the impairment this infection leads to regarding quality of life (QoL), several scales have been suggested, such as the human-papillomavirus-quality-of-life (HPV-QoL) questionnaire. This has been validated for the Spanish population and measures the impact of HPV on health-related-quality-of-life (HR-QoL).

We evaluated feedback at a tertiary cancer centre to identify potential areas for optimizing care delivery.
Methods: unsolicited feedback submitted to the Patient Relations Department, relating to the Divisions of Medical and Radiation Oncology, at the Ottawa Hospital, was analyzed.
Purpose: Despite previous studies proposing shorter durations of anti-HER2 therapy for selected patients with HER2-positive early breast cancer (EBC), 12-months remains standard of care. A survey was performed to assess patient perspectives and willingness to participate in studies evaluating shorter durations of anti-HER2 therapy.
Methods: Patients with HER2-positive EBC completing or having previously completed anti-HER2 therapy, were recruited by healthcare professionals at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre to participate in an anonymous online survey.
Despite evidence from clinical trials showing the efficacy of shorter durations of therapy, most HER2-positive early breast cancer (EBC) patients receive a year of anti-HER2 therapy. A survey of Canadian oncologists was conducted online, with electronic data collection, and the analysis is reported descriptively. Measures collected included current practices with respect to the duration of adjuvant anti-HER2 therapy, perspectives on data regarding shorter durations of treatment, and interest in further trials on this subject.

We aimed to evaluate the influence of microcystic, elongated and fragmented pattern of invasion in the diagnostic performance of transvaginal ultrasound scan and magnetic resonance imaging for the prediction of the depth of myometrial invasion in low-grade endometrioid endometrial carcinomas.
Methods: Prospective and consecutive study including all low-grade (G1-G2) endometrioid endometrial carcinomas diagnosed between October 2013 and July 2018 in a tertiary hospital.
Despite advances by recently approved antibody-drug conjugates in treating advanced gastric cancer patients, substantial limitations remain. Here, several key obstacles are overcome by developing a first-in-class ultrasmall (sub-8-nanometer (nm)) anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-targeting drug-immune conjugate nanoparticle therapy. This multivalent fluorescent core-shell silica nanoparticle bears multiple anti-HER2 single-chain variable fragments (scFv), topoisomerase inhibitors, and deferoxamine moieties.

Follow-up with endoluminal investigation to exclude colorectal cancer (CRC) remains controversial. Guidelines are increasingly moving to a more restrictive follow-up based on severity of disease and age.

Although most patients will initially respond to first-line treatment with a combination of surgery and platinum-based chemotherapy, up to a quarter will be resistant to treatment. We aimed to identify a new strategy to improve HGSC patient management at the time of cancer diagnosis (HGSC-1LTR).

We did a systematic review of health and social interventions to improve the health and wider determinants of health among adult sex workers in high-income countries. We searched MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, CINAHL, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, EthOS, OpenGrey, and Social Care Online, as well as the Global Network of Sex Work Projects and the Sex Work Research Hub for studies published between Jan 1, 2005 and Dec 16, 2021 (PROSPERO CRD42019158674).

A broad array of methods was employed to screen a panel of CDCs and identify a lead folic acid CDC for clinical development. These included comparing the performance against antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) in three-dimensional tumor spheroid penetration ability, assessing in vitro/ex vivo cytotoxic efficacy, as well as in vivo therapeutic outcome in multiple cell-line-derived and patient-derived xenograft models.

How children's experiences of using walkers relates to their physical activity has not been studied previously. This study aimed to explore perspectives of walker use and their potential to increase physical activity.

One secondary objective was to determine if an ERAS pathway in the perioperative management of advanced ovarian cancer patients led to cost savings.
Material And Methods: Secondary objective of a prospective randomised trial of patients with suspected or diagnosed advanced ovarian cancer allocated to conventional or ERAS perioperative management, carried out at a referral centre from June 2014 to March 2018.

Purpose: Despite dramatic growth in the number of small-molecule drugs developed to treat solid tumors, durable therapeutic options to control primary central nervous system malignancies are relatively scarce. Chemotherapeutic agents that appear biologically potent in model systems have often been found to be marginally effective at best when given systemically in clinical trials. This work presents for the first time an ultrasmall (<8 nm) multimodal core-shell silica nanoparticle, Cornell prime dots (or C' dots), for the efficacious treatment of high-grade gliomas.

It allows us to know the lymph node status and facilitates the action of chemoradiotherapy (CRT) by reducing tumor burden. We evaluated its feasibility and compared the perioperative morbidity and the time to CRT with a control group.

Here, we present a meta-analysis of the published literature on oncological outcomes in these patients and determine trends in postoperative management.
Methods: MEDLINE and PubMed were used for literature searches.
Background: People who use illicit opioids are more likely to be admitted to hospital than people of the same age in the general population. Many admissions end in discharge against medical advice, which is associated with readmission and all-cause mortality. Opioid withdrawal contributes to premature discharge.

Here we provide a comprehensive molecular understanding of the signaling processes that drive HGSC pathogenesis with the addition of valuable ubiquitination profiling, and their dependency on BRCA1 mutation-state directly in patient-derived tissues. Using a multilayered proteomic approach, we show the tight coordination between the ubiquitination and phosphorylation regulatory layers and their role in key cellular processes related to BRCA1-dependent HGSC pathogenesis.
