Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the impact of the depth of myotomy (selective inner layer myotomy (SIM) vs. full-thickness myotomy (FTM)) on the outcome of patients treated with POEM for achalasia.
Methods: This was a retrospective, observational, conducted in two tertiary centers between October 2018 and September 2022.
Background: Data on infliximab efficacy in bio-exposed patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) are limited.
Aims: To evaluate infliximab effectiveness and its predictors in UC patients with prior exposure to subcutaneous (SC) anti-TNF agent.
Methods: In this multicenter retrospective study (8 centers), we included all consecutive UC patients with prior exposure to subcutaneous anti-TNF, starting infliximab for symptomatic UC, excluding acute severe colitis.
Background: Bradykinin angioedemas are a potentially serious side effect of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI) and more controversially of angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARB). Their challenging diagnosis is based on the absence of any recurrence after more than 6 months of drug discontinuation; otherwise mast-cell driven angioedemas as a differential diagnosis must be considered.
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of recurrent angioedema in patients referred for ACEI/ARB-induced bradykinin angioedema, after more than 6 months of drug discontinuation.
Objectives: The emergence of biologics has improved the course of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) in the elderly population despite a potential higher risk of infections. We conducted a one-year, prospective, multicenter, observational study to determine the frequency of occurrence of at least one infectious event in elderly IBD patients under anti-TNF therapy compared with that in elderly patients under vedolizumab or ustekinumab therapies.
Methods: All IBD patients over 65 years exposed to anti-TNF, vedolizumab or ustekinumab therapies were included.
Objective: ZAP-70 BALB/c (SKG) mice develop reactive arthritis (ReA) following infection with Chlamydia muridarum. Since intracellular pathogens enhance their replicative fitness in stressed host cells, we examined how myeloid cells infected with C muridarum drive arthritis.
Methods: SKG, Il17a-deficient SKG, and BALB/c female mice were infected with C muridarum or C muridarum luciferase in the genitals.
Introduction: The approved maintenance regimens for ustekinumab in Crohn's disease (CD) are 90 mg every 8 or 12 weeks. Some patients will partially respond to ustekinumab or will experience a secondary loss of response. It remains poorly known if these patients may benefit from shortening the interval between injections.

Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4) modifying agents have been involved in the development of intestinal inflammation, especially therapeutic monoclonal antibodies directed against CTLA-4. Here we report the appearance of a severe stricturing Crohn's disease-like colitis in a patient with a kidney allograft who was treated with belatacept, a recombinant CTLA-4-Ig fusion protein.
