This paper presents a novel cutting fluid monitoring sensor system and a description of an algorithm framework to monitor the state of the cutting emulsion in the machine tool sump. One of the most frequently used coolants in metal machining is cutting emulsion. Contamination and gradual degradation of the fluid is a common occurrence, and unless certain maintenance steps are undertaken, the fluid needs to be completely replaced, which is both un-economical and non-ecological.

They are challenged by various existing solutions employing cloud-related patterns and services. However, a full-scale cloud-native PACS has not yet been demonstrated.

Two-dimensional matrix codes, compared to 1D bar codes, can encode significantly more data in the same area. We have compared algorithms capable of localizing multiple QR Codes in an image using typical finder patterns, which are present in three corners of a QR Code.

Lung cancer is responsible for more fatalities than any other cancer worldwide, with 1.76 million associated deaths reported in 2018. The key issue in the fight against this disease is the detection and diagnosis of all pulmonary nodules at an early stage.

The system provides precise size-specific dose estimates (SSDE) following the American Association of Physicists in Medicine regulations. Our dose management can operate on incomplete DICOM header metadata by retrieving necessary information from the dose report image by using optical character recognition.

The presented paper scientifically discusses the progressive diagnostics of electrical drives in robots with sensor support. The AI (artificial intelligence) model proposed by the authors contains the technical conditions of fuzzy inference rule descriptions for the identification of a robot drive's technical condition and a source for the description of linguistic variables. The parameter of drive diagnostics for a robotized workplace that is proposed here is original and composed of the sum of vibration acceleration amplitudes ranging from a frequency of 6.

A mathematical model of the boring mandrel oscillations, machine support and inertial body (damper) is developed in the form of a differential equations system. The model is made in the form of a four-mass system of connected bodies.

However, the analysis and interpretation of cast-off patterns remains an area lacking tools for crime scene investigators. Analyzing cast-off patterns may allow investigators to interpret the area from where an object may have been swung and thus determine the approximate location of a suspect or victim.

Use of effective prevention practices remains low, prompting the need for effective interventions which increase the uptake of and investment in prevention practices. We sought: (a) to describe knowledge, self-efficacy, and practices among a population of workers, their family members, and neighbors involved in or located close to agate processing; and (b) to explore which factors are related to use of prevention practices and willingness to invest in new dust control technologies.

It is shown that the eccentricity of the initial fireball, evaluated with respect to the deuteron polarization axis perpendicular to the beam direction, has a substantial magnitude for collisions of highest multiplicity. Within the Glauber approach we obtain ∼7% for the deuteron states with spin projection 0, and ∼-3% for spin projection ±1.

The most notable consequence of this forward-backward symmetry breaking is the observation of rapidity-odd directed flow for charged particles. On the other hand, the production points for heavy quarks are forward-backward symmetric and shifted in the transverse plane with respect to the fireball.

Methods: Between 1993-2015, in three centres in Bratislava and in one centre in Kosice, carriers of beta-thalassaemic genes or other haemoglobinopathies were searched for. Diagnosis was performed by haematologists, whereby the family history was evaluated, together with the overall clinical condition, blood count and blood smear, iron and haemolysis parameters, mutations of hereditary haemochromatosis, and haemoglobin electrophoresis testing.
BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to determine the prevalence of petrosquamosal sinus (PSS) and other temporal bone (TB) anatomical variations in various patients using high-resolution computed tomography (CT). MATERIAL AND METHODS We reviewed clinical and consecutively obtained CT data for 276 TBs of 138 patients. The incidence of TB anatomical variations was compared among patients with radiological markers of chronic otitis media (RCOM) and non-RCOM.

The collective mechanism in the p-Pb system predicts a specific mass ordering in these observables: the growth of the average transverse momentum with the particle mass and a mass splitting of the elliptic flow coefficient, i.e.

The falloff of the same-side ridge in relative pseudorapidity follows from the fact that a pair of particles with balanced charges is emitted from the same fluid element, whose collective velocity collimates the momenta of the pair. We reproduce basic experimental features of the two-dimensional correlation function, such as the dependence on the relative charge and centrality, as well as the related charge balance functions and the harmonic flow coefficients as functions of the relative pseudorapidity.

Background And Purpose: Cerebral artery fenestrations (CAF) are rare congenital variations usually diagnosed by digital subtraction angiography (DSA). The aim of this study was to examine the frequency of occurrence of fenestrations in cerebral arteries and their coexistence with cerebral aneurysms in computed tomography angiography (CTA).
Material And Methods: All reports of cerebral CTA (1140) performed in one institution from March 2005 to December 2007 were analysed.
Statins, inhibitors of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, are effective drugs in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia, however, their undesirable actions are not fully known. We investigated the effects of atorvastatin on the oxidative phosphorylation and membrane fluidity in liver mitochondria, and also on the coenzyme Q (CoQ) content in the mitochondria, liver tissue, and plasma of rats on a standard (C) and hypercholesterolemic (HCh) diet. Atorvastatin was administered at either low (10 mg kg(-1)) or high dose (80 mg kg(-1)) for four weeks.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe focused on determination of whether atorvastatin: 1) reduces CoQ content, 2) impairs mitochondrial function and 3) induces dose-dependent changes. Although the high dose of atorvastatin exerted a beneficial effect on the lipid peroxidation in plasma, coenzyme Q content was reduced and heart mitochondrial function was impaired. Physicians should be aware when prescribing statins mainly in higher doses to the patients with co-existing proved or supposed CoQ10 deficiency resulting from age-related decline, and metabolic or mitochondrial diseases (Ref.

The most common site of occurrence of the head and neck paragangliomas are: carotid body, jugular foramen (glomus jugulare) and tympanic cavity (glomus tympanicum). Magnetic resonance (MR), computed tomography (CT) and angiography are the modalities of choice in detecting and characterizing paragangliomas.
