Current Trends in Regenerative Endodontics: A Web-based Survey.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to ascertain the current trends in regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs) among clinicians, including case selection criteria and clinical protocols.

Methods: An online questionnaire consisting of provider demographics, case selection criteria for REPs, and clinical protocols was made available to members of the American Association of Endodontists and members of the Endolit website. Data were analyzed using the Fisher exact test.

Transitional-aged youth perceptions of influential factors for substance-use change and treatment seeking.

There is an evident disparity between the number of youth who report experiencing problematic substance use and the number who seek treatment. To address this disparity, it is important to understand the reasons youth do and do not seek substance use treatment. Using qualitative data obtained from semistructured interviews with 31 youth aged 17-25 years presenting for treatment at a mental health hospital, the current study identifies themes in the factors that youth identify as having influenced them to seek or delay treatment.

Impact of Bar-code Medication Administration on Medication Administration Best Practices.

Medication errors in hospitals are common and often lead to patient harm, contributing to increased costs and hospital length of stay. Bar-code medication administration can improve patient safety by leveraging technology to improve accuracy throughout the medication administration process. This study was designed to determine whether implementation of a bar-code medication administration process could improve the safety of medication administration.

Student nurses and the electronic medical record: a partnership of academia and healthcare.

The advent of the electronic medical record has brought a new challenge to nursing education. Although most nursing students are proficient in data entry and computer skills, they often do not comprehend how the information they enter becomes a vital component of interdisciplinary team communication. Furthermore, the electronic medical record becomes a repository for information that can be retrieved for the purpose of decision support.

Complexity of care is associated with distressing environmental factors.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe work and cognitive complexity patterns and assess predictors of increased complexity of care.

Design: Prospective, cross-sectional, correlational design, using a convenience sample and survey method.

Setting: Four nursing units at a large, Midwest tertiary-care medical center.
