Two simple algorithms based on combining odor concentration differences across time and space along with information on the flow direction are tested for their ability to locate an odor source in four different odor landscapes. Image data taken from air plumes in three different regimes and a water plume are used as test environments for a bilateral ("stereo sampling") algorithm using concentration differences across two sensors and a "casting" algorithm that uses successive samples to decide orientation. Agents are started at random locations and orientations in the landscape and allowed to move until they reach the source of the odor (success) or leave the imaged area (failure).

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) persistence and potential harm have become more widely recognized in the environment due to its fast-paced research. However, the bibliometric review on the detection, research hotspot, and development trend of environmental ARGs has not been widely conducted. It is essential to provide a comprehensive overview of the last 30 years of research on environmental ARGs to clarify the changes in the research landscape and ascertain future prospects.

Metal-organic framework (MOF) materials with fantastic properties have found important applications in various areas. Learning the lessons from plastics and microplastics, it is urgent to investigate the environmental impacts of emerging materials to avoid potential pollution. However, the environmental toxicity and risks of MOF materials are seldom reported.

Metal-organic framework (MOF) materials are star materials with unique structures and properties. To ensure safe production and applications, the toxicity and environmental hazards of MOF materials should be thoroughly investigated. However, the environmental impact of MOF materials on plants is completely unknown.

Nanodiamonds (NDs) are produced with large scale and applied in many areas, thus the environmental impacts and hazards of NDs should be systematically investigated. In this study, we evaluated the interaction between detonation NDs and white rot fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium and the impact on the fungus decompositions activities. NDs did not influence the biomass gain of P.

Graphene adsorbents have been applied to remove diverse pollutants from aqueous systems. However, the mechanical strength of most graphene adsorbents is low and the fragile graphene sheets are released into the environment. In this study, we prepared carboxylated graphene oxide/chitosan/cellulose (GCCSC) composite beads with good mechanical strength for the immobilization of Cu from both water and soil.

Carbon nanomaterials are widely studied and applied nowadays, with annual production increasing. After entering the environment, the complete degradation of these carbon nanomaterials by microorganisms is proposed as an effective approach for detoxification and remediation. In this study, we evaluated the degradation of pristine multiwalled carbon nanotubes (p-MWCNTs) and oxidized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (o-MWCNTs) by the white rot fungus , which is a powerful decomposer in the carbon cycle and environmental remediation.
