Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) are emerging as a promising candidate for large-scale energy storage, offering enhanced safety and low costs. Nevertheless, the disordered growth of zinc dendrites has resulted in low coulombic efficiency and the dangers of short circuits, limiting the commercialization of ZIBs. In this study, a planar growth of zinc along the (002) direction is achieved by regulating the moderate initial stacking pressure during cell cycling and facilitating a larger zinc deposition particle size.

Such process poses challenges in precisely controlling the composition and distribution of the heterojunctions across the film, in particular for large-area applications. Here, a soft 2D perovskite based on tetrapheptyl-ammonium iodide (TPAI), noted as TPAPbI is reported.

The development of AEP inhibitors has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy to modulate AEP activity and slow disease progression. Various AEP inhibitors have been explored, encompassing small molecules, peptide-based, antibody-based, and natural inhibitors.

However, constructing ectopic endometrial epithelial cell models in basic studies is still challenging. In this study, we explored the feasibility and influencing factors of constructing and validating eutopic and ectopic endometrial organoid models of OE as in-vitro models.

Portulaca oleracea (PO) and Patrinia scabiosaefolia (PS) have been traditionally used in dermatological treatments, though their mechanistic pathways in UVB-induced skin injury are not fully understood. In this study, a mouse model of UVB-induced solar dermatitis was employed to evaluate the therapeutic potential of combined PO and PS (POPS) extracts.

Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), which are potent greenhouse gases and widely used as replacements for ozone-depleting substances, are controlled under the Montreal Protocol. China is considered an emission hot region of HFCs, however, the observations and emission quantifications are still insufficient. In this study, we report new high-frequency in situ observations of HFC-125, HFC-134a, and HFC-143a at the Changdao (CHD) station, whose emission sensitivity to northern China is higher than those of previously used stations to better quantify emissions.

Methods: A total of 105 patients were included in this study and randomized into blank control, ORC, and TXA groups. The primary outcomes were total blood loss, hemoglobin drop (Hb drop), transfusion rates, and incidence of thrombosis.
Ciprofloxacin (CIP) is a commonly used antibiotic, but its abuse may cause bacterial resistance, posing a high risk to the environment and human health. Herein, based on the molecular imprinting technology, this study proposed a ratiometric fluorescence sensor employing the "post-doping" strategy, which aims to be rapid, selective, and visually easy-to-use for CIP detection to address antibiotic residues and environmental risks. Specifically, by exploiting the "antenna effect" of lanthanide metal ions (Ln), terbium (III) (Tb) chosen as a fluorescence-assisted functional monomer as well as the red emitting CdTe quantum dots (QDs) as the internal reference signal were introduced into multi-emission Tb-CdTe@SiO@MIPs (TbMIPs).

Preoperative prophylactic administration of glucocorticoids can alleviate PONV, with betamethasone showing promising results in breast and cardiac surgeries. However, its efficacy in TKA patients remains unclear.

Herein, a novel electrocatalyst is reported, featuring nitrogen-doped carbon-supported ultra-small copper oxide nanoparticles with the broken-symmetry C coordination filed sites, achieved by a mild γ-ray radiation-induced method. The as-synthesized catalyst exhibits an excellent ORR activity with a half-wave potential of 0.

However, the molecular mechanism for this distinct vulnerability remains unclear. Here, it is shown that Legumain, also known as asparagine endopeptidase (AEP), is activated in a subgroup of SRY-box transcription factor 6 /Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family member A1, (Sox6/ALDH1A1) neurons in the ventral tier of the SNpc and cleaves Sox6 and ALDH1A1, leading to repression of Special AT-rich sequence binding protein 1 (Satb1) that is a dimeric/tetrameric transcription factor specifically binding to AT-rich DNA sequences, and toxic dopamine metabolite accumulation.

Among the screened wild-type ARB, the relative abundance of unidentified Enterobacteriaceae, Stenotrophomonas, and Ralstonia was high. A ratio of 1:1 for Fe and PDS under 18 W·m UVA radiation (sunny days) completely inactivated the environmental ARB isolates.

Among the various HIF phenotypes, HIF-1α positively contributes to maintaining the stability of the articular cartilage matrix. In contrast, HIF-2α has a detrimental effect, leading to chondrocyte apoptosis and exacerbating inflammation.

However, majority of AD mouse models are developed to mimic the genetic cause of human AD by overexpressing mutated forms of human APP, PS1/2, and/or Tau protein, though there is no Tau mutation in AD, and no single mouse model recapitulates all aspects of AD pathology. Here, we report Thy1-ApoE4/C/EBPβ double transgenic mouse model that demonstrates key AD pathologies in an age-dependent manner in absence of any human APP or PS1/2 mutation.

It should be explained that the neighborhood effect in this paper refers to the fact that the behavior of farmers is highly susceptible to the behavior of their neighbors in the process of production and living. The results of the study show that neighborhood effects and policy interventions have a significant negative impact on the deviation of farmers' willingness and behavior of DWS, respectively.
