Line bisection is one of the most commonly used tasks to assess spatial neglect. More recently, line bisection has been recommended as a task to monitor for spatial neglect during awake brain tumor surgery, but the operative constraints hamper the normal test conditions. We developed and validated in 118 healthy participants the BLOC test, a computerized version of line bisection, suppressing the motor component, in both sitting and lying positions.

Pure agraphias are caused by graphemic buffer damage. The graphemic buffer stores graphemic representations that handle the transition from spelling lexicon to writing or oral spellings. The authors report a case of a crossed pure agraphia, following the post-surgical removal of a right frontal low-grade glioma in a right-handed French patient.

Introduction: The categorical approach in psychiatry has received many criticisms. Modern research tends to develop a transdiagnostic approach. However, transdiagnostic works lack an overall understanding and focus mainly on anxiety and depression.

Case Report: Cognitive Assessment Before an Amnesic Seizure in Transient Epileptic Amnesia Syndrome.

A patient with transient epileptic amnesia syndrome presented a clinically observable amnesic seizure immediately after a neuropsychological assessment. An hour and a half before the onset of the seizure, the patient progressively developed an isolated alteration of episodic memory. These data question the ictal/interictal distinction in this syndrome as well as the speed of propagation of an epileptic activity.

Cesarean section rate changes after audit and feedback with the Ten Group Classification System in a French perinatal network: A retrospective pre-post study.

Introduction: The rise in the number of cesarean sections (CS) is a major health public problem which concerns nearly all countries. It is suggested that the Ten Group Classification System be adapted to a procedure of audit/feedback cycles, which could have an effect on CS practice. Therefore, we aimed to study changes in CS rates between maternity wards in a perinatal network after implementation of the Ten Group Classification System in an audit with feedback.

Variation between hospital caesarean delivery rates when Robson's classification is considered: An observational study from a French perinatal network.

Introduction: WHO has recommended using Robson's Ten Group Classification System (TGCS) to monitor and analyze CD rates. Its failure to take some maternal and organizational factors into account, however, could limit the interpretation of CD rate comparisons, because it may contribute to variations in hospital CD rates.

Objective: To study the contribution of maternal socioeconomic and clinical characteristics and hospital organizational factors to the variation in CD rates when using Robson's ten-group classification system for CD rate comparisons.

The mutation T3811 → G3811 (TG3811) discovered in the myostatin gene of the Blonde d'Aquitaine breed is suspected of contributing to the outstanding muscularity of this breed. An experiment was designed to estimate the effect of this mutation in an F2 and back-cross Blonde d'Aquitaine × Holstein population. By genotyping all known mutations in the myostatin gene, it was ensured that the TG3811 mutation was indeed the only known mutation segregating in this population.

Interference filters and their impact on FM-to-AM conversion: a method for investigation and characterization.

[Evolution of the cesarean delivery rate from 37 weeks of gestation among nulliparas or how to evaluate the external validity of a randomized North American trial about induction of labor].

Objective: To determine the risk of caesarean delivery (CD) when an expectant management is considered for a nulliparous reaching≥37 weeks of gestation (wog).

Methods: This is a prospective study, including all nulliparous women who delivered at≥37 wog a singleton fetus in a cephalic presentation between the first January 2017 and the 31st December 2017 in a French perinatal network (Mypa). For each week of gestation from 37 wog to 41 wog, the rate of CD was determined according the onset of labor (spontaneous or induced).

A powerful tool for comparing different test procedures to measure the probability and density of laser induced damage on optical materials.

The determination of the laser damage resistance of optics in the nanosecond regime is based on statistical tests and approaches because the response of the components is mainly related to the presence of defects randomly distributed in the optics and is therefore probabilistic in nature. For practical reasons, the tests are mostly carried out with beams of small dimensions (several tens of micrometer), that make it possible to determine a damage probability from which a laser damage threshold is extracted. This threshold is, however, highly correlated with the size of the test beam and the sampling of the test procedure.

Characterization of palladium species after γ-irradiation of a TBP-alkane-Pd(NO) system.

The γ-irradiation of a biphasic system composed of tri--butylphosphate in tetrapropylene hydrogen (TPH) in contact with palladium(ii) nitrate in nitric acid aqueous solution led to the formation of two precipitates. A thorough characterization of these solids was performed by means of various analytical techniques including X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis coupled with a Differential Scanning Calorimeter (TGA-DSC), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), InfraRed (IR), RAMAN and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy, and ElectroSpray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS). Investigations showed that the two precipitates exhibit quite similar structures.

Background: Since tumor growth requires reactivation of telomerase (hTERT), this enzyme is a challenging target for drug development. Therefore, it is of great interest to identify telomerase expression and activity regulators. Retinoids are well-known inducers of granulocytic maturation associated with hTERT repression in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) blasts.

A bio-acoustic levitational assembly method for engineering of multilayered, 3D brainlike constructs is presented. Acoustic radiation forces are used to levitate neuroprogenitors derived from human embryonic stem cells in 3D multilayered fibrin tissue constructs. The neuro-progenitor cells are subsequently differentiated in neural cells, resulting in a 3D neuronal construct with inter and intralayer neurite elongations.

Designing an operating theatre for awake procedures: A solution to improve multimodality information input.

Objective: Many neurosurgical procedures are now performed with the patient aware in order to allow interactions between the patient and healthcare professionals. These procedures include awake brain surgery and spinal cord stimulation (SCS), lead placement for treatment of refractory chronic back and leg pain. Neurosurgical procedures under local anaesthesia require optimal intraoperative cooperation of the patient and all personnel involved in surgery.

Deep intronic mutation and pseudo exon activation as a novel muscular hypertrophy modifier in cattle.

Myostatin is essential for proper regulation of myogenesis, and inactivation of Myostatin results in muscle hypertrophy. Here, we identified an unexpected mutation in the myostatin gene which is almost fixed in Blonde d'Aquitaine cattle. In skeletal muscle, the mutant allele was highly expressed leading to an abnormal transcript consisting of a 41-bp inclusion and premature termination codons and to residual levels of a correctly spliced transcript.

Intraoperative monitoring of an aspect of executive functions: administration of the Stroop test in 9 adult patients during awake surgery for resection of frontal glioma.

Background: Awake brain surgery allows extensive intraoperative monitoring of not only motor and sensory functions and language but also executive functions.

Objective: To administer the Stroop test intraoperatively to avoid dramatic side effects such as akinetic mutism and to monitor executive functions in an attempt to optimize the benefit/risk balance of surgery.

Methods: A series of 9 adult patients with frontal glioma were operated on for gross tumor resection under local anesthesia.
