Purpose: To report a case of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) retinopathy after long-term exposure in a 23-year-old male.
Methods: Multimodal imaging including fundus photography, fundus autofluorescence (FAF), spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT), and en face OCT were performed, in addition to functional testing with full-field electroretinography (ERG) and Humphrey visual field (HVF).
Results: A 23-year-old man with a history of juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus and HCQ treatment for 13 years at a dosage of 200 mg/d (cumulative dose: 949 grams) presented to the retinal clinic (DS).
Pentosan polysulfate sodium (PPS) maculopathy is a recently described condition of macular toxicity. We report the prevalence (15 %), the clinical characteristics, and the multimodal imaging (MMI) features of PPS maculopathy based on a final prospective analysis of a cohort of 154 subjects and highlight the association with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). In addition, we summarize the most recent and relevant literature on PPS maculopathy.

Objective: To conduct a meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) using probably blinded (ie, rated by individuals probably or certainly unaware of treatment allocation) or neuropsychological outcomes to test the efficacy of neurofeedback as a treatment for ADHD in terms of core symptom reduction and improved neuropsychological outcomes.
Data Sources: PubMed (MEDLINE), Ovid (PsycInfo, MEDLINE, Embase + Embase Classic), and Web of Science, as well as the reference lists of eligible records and relevant systematic reviews, were searched until July 25, 2023, with no language limits.
Purpose: To identify baseline OCT predictors of the 3-year macular atrophy (MA) development for type 3 (T3) macular neovascularization (MNV) secondary to neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) treated by anti-VEGF therapy.
Design: Multicenter, retrospective, longitudinal study.
Participants: We included patients with treatment-naive T3 MNV secondary to nAMD at baseline, treated with anti-VEGF during a 3-year follow-up.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. ADHD is commonly treated with medication, such as methylphenidate, but some families and practitioners prefer psychosocial interventions as first line treatments. Observations: We describe two unrelated patients with end-stage kidney failure (ESKD) treated with peritoneal dialysis that developed rapid bilateral vision loss due to severe retinal vascular occlusion. Multi-modal retinal imaging studies demonstrated crystalline deposits.
Purpose: To describe and study hyporeflective sub retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) spaces in large drusen and drusenoid pigment epithelial detachment prior to collapse.
Method: Retrospective longitudinal study which enrolled patients with large and very large drusen due to intermediate age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The following optical coherence tomography (OCT) parameters were assessed: Drusen size (maximum width and height), OCT biomarkers of RPE atrophy, presence of intraretinal and subretinal fluid (IRF, SRF), acquired vitelliform lesion and sub RPE regions of hyporeflectivity within the PED compartment.
Purpose: To report eight cases of acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy (APMPPE) or persistent placoid maculopathy (PPM) initially masquerading as age-related macular degeneration in elderly individuals.
Methods: APMPPE or PPM eyes in patients above age 55 years with macular retinal pigment epithelium disruption including drusenoid lesions on macular examination and/or with multimodal imaging were included. At least one method of multimodal imaging including fluorescein angiography (FA), indocyanine green angiography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and OCT angiography (OCTA) was performed in all eyes for diagnosis and to monitor for macular neovascularization.
Objective: To characterize clinical and prognostic implications of leptovitelliform maculopathy (LVM), a distinctive phenotype of vitelliform lesion characterized by the coexistence of subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDDs) and leptochoroid.
Design: Retrospective, cohort study.
Subjects: The study compared patients affected by LVM with cohorts displaying a similar phenotypic spectrum.

The transcription factor receptor-interacting protein 140 (RIP140) regulates intestinal homeostasis and tumorigenesis through Wnt signaling. In this study, we investigated its effect on the Notch/HES1 signaling pathway. In colorectal cancer (CRC) cell lines, RIP140 positively regulated HES1 gene expression at the transcriptional level via a recombining binding protein suppressor of hairless (RBPJ)/neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 1 (NICD)-mediated mechanism.

Purpose: To describe the development of cystoid macular edema (CME) as a complication of central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) in 2 cases.
Observations: The first patient was a 51-year-old female who presented with acute loss of vision in the left eye. Multimodal retinal imaging revealed a CRAO with a perfused cilioretinal artery.
Introduction: Earlier studies exploring the value of executive functioning (EF) indices for assessing treatment effectiveness and predicting treatment response in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) mainly focused on pharmacological treatment options and revealed rather heterogeneous results. Envisioning the long-term goal of personalized treatment selection and intervention planning, this study comparing methylphenidate treatment (MPH) and a home-based neurofeedback intervention (NF@Home) aimed to expand previous findings by assessing objective as well as subjectively reported EF indices and by analyzing their value as treatment and predictive markers.
Methods: Children and adolescents ( = 146 in the per protocol sample) aged 7-13 years with a formal diagnosis of an inattentive or combined presentation of ADHD were examined.
Purpose: To analyze the topographic distribution of macular drusen and subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDDs) using single-capture en face spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) imaging.
Design: Retrospective case series.
Methods: Analysis of 33 eyes of 20 patients with evidence of SDDs.
We establish the sign of the linear magnetoelectric (ME) coefficient,, in chromia, CrO. CrOis the prototypical linear ME material, in which an electric (magnetic) field induces a linearly proportional magnetization (polarization), and a single magnetic domain can be selected by annealing in combined magnetic () and electric () fields. Opposite antiferromagnetic (AFM) domains have opposite ME responses, and which AFM domain corresponds to which sign of response has previously been unclear.

Purpose: To report the case of severe bilateral retinal vascular occlusion in a patient with hyperoxalosis and chronic renal failure.
Methods: Observational case report. Medical and imaging records were retrospectively reviewed.
Purpose: To investigate the imaging features preceding the occurrence of type 3 (T3) macular neovascularization (MNV) using tracked spectral-domain optical coherence tomography.
Method: From a cohort of eyes with T3 MNV and ≥ 12 months of previously tracked spectral-domain optical coherence tomography, T3 lesions that developed above soft drusen were selected for optical coherence tomography analysis. Retinal imaging findings at the location where type T3 MNV occurred were analyzed at each follow-up until the onset of T3 MNV.
The exact link between systemic and ocular endogenous corticoids (steroidome) is unclear and whether the ocular steroidome is altered in CSCR eyes is unknown. The aims of this study were to analyze the human steroidome in the aqueous humor as a function of age, sex and time of the day, to correlate systemic and ocular steroidome and to analyze the ocular steroidome in long lasting complex inactive CSCR. Based on our results, we present two CSCR cases treated by the combination of oral mineralocorticoid antagonist and glucocorticoids drops.

Purpose: To describe the progression of pentosan polysulfate sodium (PPS) maculopathy after drug discontinuation qualitatively and quantitatively using multimodal imaging assessmen.
Design: Prospective case series.
Methods: Patients with PPS maculopathy were evaluated after discontinuation of PPS.
The central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) is characterized by serous retinal detachments SRD associated with one or several retinal pigment epithelium detachments/irregularities (PEDs). The choroid is thickened with dilated choroidal veins and choroidal hyperpermeability suggesting an underlying choroidopathy. CSCR belongs to the pachychoroid spectrum.
