Background: Thromboembolic events of COVID-19 are due to hyperinflammatory process associated with hypercoagulable state. The aim of the study was to determine characteristics and clinical outcomes of patients with COVID-19 who presented with aortic thrombus.

Methods: We retrospectively conducted a single-center, descriptive study over a period of 1 year and 7 months, between June 2021 and December 2022, involving eight patients with documented SARS-CoV-2 infection associated with aortic thrombus revealed by acute limb ischemia.

The present work concerns the intermetallic compound (IMC) existing in the Ag-Sn system and its potential use in electronics as attachment materials allowing the adhesion of the chip to the substrate forming the power module. First, we present the synthesis protocol in polyol medium of a compound with the chemical formula AgSn belonging to the solid solution of composition located between 9 and 16 at.% Sn, known as solid solution ζ (or ζ-AgSn).

Introduction: The standard control parameters of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) currently used in Tunisia are replaced in Western countries by the concept of "goal-directed-perfusion" requiring oxygen delivery (DO2) minimum at 270ml / min / m2.

Aim: In this study, we explored the association between the DO2 and the postoperative morbidity and mortality.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional and retrospective observational study including a series of 50 patients operated on for myocardial revascularization under CPB.

Article Synopsis
  • Cobalt nano-rods with a hexagonal structure were created using a reduction method involving a cobalt precursor, with an external magnetic field applied during their formation.
  • * The external magnetic field altered both the aspect ratio and morphology of the nano-rods, eliminating conical heads and reducing stacking faults in the structure.
  • * These enhanced properties led to a higher coercive field for the nano-rods, making them promising candidates for developing new permanent magnets.

Both lead and cadmium are toxic trace metals, even in very weak concentrations. The aim of this study was to estimate lead and cadmium pollution in various sites of the Tunisian coast and to verify the possibility of modification of the algae bioconcentration power according to water physico-chemical conditions. Our study concerned 99 samples of algae and 99 samples of seawater, taken in different sites of the Tunisian littoral.
