Objective: To assess rates and trends of hypnotic medication prescriptions for children and adolescents.

Study Design: Cross-sectional study of national dispensing data between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2023, in France. Prescriptions of hypnotic medications (hydroxyzine, alimemazine, melatonin, and Z-drugs) dispensed to children aged 6-17 years were analyzed.

Did the resurgence of childhood lower respiratory infections offset the initial benefit of COVID-19-related non-pharmaceutical interventions in children? A time-series analysis.

Background: Following non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPI) lifting in 2021, an important surge in childhood lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) was reported in several countries, raising major concerns about the middle-term consequences of such interventions. Whether this recent upsurge overwhelms the initial benefit of NPI remains unknown.

Methods: We conducted an interrupted time-series analysis based on exhaustive national surveillance systems.

The readiness of French people for direct access to physiotherapy is not known. This survey aims to identify the perceptions of French adults regarding physiotherapists' competence to diagnose and manage MSKDs if they were primary care practitioners, confidence in their ability to provide quality care, and satisfaction with the last episode of care for those concerned; and to identify factors associated with these three variables.

Patients' psychosocial attributes and aggressiveness of cancer treatments near the end of life.

Background: While the use of chemotherapy near the end of life (EOL) has been identified as a relevant criterion for assessing quality of cancer care and has been estimated as non-beneficial, a trend of aggressiveness in cancer care during the last period of life remains. Both patients' sociodemographic characteristics and physicians' practice setting are associated with this use. The role of patients' psychosocial characteristics has however been understudied.

Objectives: The objectives were to describe the challenges faced by youths with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in their intimate lives before the onset of sexual activity and develop a screening tool to detect early difficulties.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional qualitative study via semi-structured interviews with 15-19-year-olds diagnosed with IBD. To be eligible for inclusion, these adolescents had to respond having not yet started their sexual life.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This cross-sectional study used nationwide interrupted time-series analysis of outpatient drug dispensing data from the IQVIA X-ponent database.

Association between Portal Vein Thrombosis after Umbilical Vein Catheterization and Neonatal Asphyxia.

Introduction: Neonatal portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is frequently related to umbilical venous catheterization (UVC), but risk factors remain unclear. This study aims to analyze the variables associated to PVT in near- to full-term newborns with UVC, with a focus on newborns exposed to controlled therapeutic hypothermia (CTH) for hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).

Background: Although the health benefits of physical activity (PA) are recognized, prostate cancer patients do not follow PA recommendations. Barriers to PA, whether physical, environmental or organizational, are known. Furthermore, even when these barriers are overcome, this achievement is not systematically accompanied by lifestyle change.

The deployment of advanced practice nurses in the French health system: From clinics to professional networks.

Aim: The aim of this study is to contribute to an understanding of the role deployment of advanced practice nurses (APNs) in French healthcare settings.

Introduction: The introduction of APNs was formalised in France by the decrees issued on 18 July 2018, which described the areas, activities and training of APNs.

Background: A qualitative study on the role implementation of APNs was conducted between July 2021 and May 2022 following a call for projects launched by the Île-de-France Regional Health Agency to evaluate the deployment of APNs in the area.

Required competencies for French physiotherapists for direct access to primary care for patients with musculoskeletal disorders: consensus statement based on a Delphi survey.

Background: Physiotherapists who will practice in direct access model of care must acquire the required competencies to ensure adequate and safe patient care. There is no set of required competencies for French physiotherapists.

Objective: To develop a consensus on a minimum set of competencies that French physiotherapists should acquire to practice in direct access to primary care with patients with musculoskeletal disorders.

[Deployment of advanced nursing practice in Île-de-France].

Advanced practice nurses (APNs) are finding it difficult to establish themselves once they have completed their training. Nearly half (49%) of graduates interviewed in a survey said they were not working as APNs, which raises real questions about the future of new graduates and their establishment in local areas. Under such conditions, the future of IPAs sometimes seems compromised, especially those in private practice.

In-situ monitoring of changes in ultrastructure and mechanical properties of flax cell walls during controlled heat treatment.

Plant fibres are increasingly used as reinforcements, especially in thermoplastic composites. Understanding the impact of temperature on the properties of these fibres is an important issue for the manufacturing of high-performance materials with minimal defects. In this work, the structural evolution and mechanical behaviour of flax fibre cell walls were dynamically monitored by temperature-controlled X-ray diffraction and nanoindentation from 25 to 230 °C; detailed biochemical analysis was also conducted on fibre samples after each heating step.

Clinics dedicated to transition preparation for adolescents and young adults with chronic conditions: Factors influencing their use.

To pool resources and reduce inequalities in access to transition preparation for patients, transition clinics were created in France. They are places in hospitals, independent of the usual care departments, offering multiple resources and services for adolescents and their parents. Of the 24 physicians from care departments who were surveyed, half of them do not use transition clinics.
