In coordination chemistry and crystal engineering, many factors influence the construction of coordination polymers and the final frameworks depend greatly on the organic ligands used. The diverse coordination modes of N-donor ligands have been employed to assemble metal-organic frameworks. Carboxylic acid ligands can deprotonate completely or partially when bonding to metal ions and can also act as donors or acceptors of hydrogen bonds; they are thus good candidates for the construction of supramolecular architectures.

Coordination of the anions of benzenecarboxylic acids with metal cations leads to coordination polymers with various structural features. Very few examples of strontium-based structures have been reported. A new three-dimensional coordination polymer, namely poly[aqua(μ-benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylato)distrontium(II)], [Sr(CHO)(HO)], has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by thermal analysis, vibrational spectroscopy (Raman and IR), single-crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction.

In the title coordination polymer, [MnCl2(C7H5NS)2] n , the Mn(II) ion is located on the inter-section of a twofold rotation axis and a mirror plane and adopts an octa-hedral coordination geometry defined by two mutually trans N atoms from benzo-thia-zole ligands which occupy the axial positions, and four Cl atoms which form the equatorial sites. The Mn(II) ions are connected by two bridging Cl atoms, forming chains parallel to the c axis. The crystal packing can be descibed as alternating layers parallel to (001) featuring π-π stacking inter-actions with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.

The aim of this work is to automate the interpretation of ultrasonic images during the non-destructive testing (NDT) technique called time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD) to aid in decision making. In this paper, the mathematical morphology approach is used to extract relevant pixels corresponding to the presence of a discontinuity, and a pattern recognition technique is used to characterize the discontinuity. The watershed technique is exploited to determine the region of interest and image background is removed using an erosion process, thereby improving the detection of connected shapes present in the image.

In a wide International Context characterised not only by the economical development but also by the social, cultural, political and individual development, we witness more and more to a exchange between the developed and the developing countries, which can be translated especially in the migration of the work force. In theory, all countries are either countries of origin either countries of transit or destination, and they are all responsible for the rights of migrant workers by promoting the rights, by monitoring and by preventing the abusive conditions. The process of migration of the workforce can be divided into three stages: the first coincides with the period prior to departure, the second is represented by the aftermath of the departure and the period of stay in the country of destination, the third stage corresponds to the return in the country of origin.

Computed tomography (CT) of the brain was performed on 44 women with eclampsia, 31 during pregnancy and 13 postpartum. All CT scans were done within 24 hours of eclampsia, including 12 within 1 hour of the convulsions and eight before the repetition of additional seizures, 2 minutes to 14 hours later. Control scans were performed on 15 hypertensive pregnant patients and on ten normotensive pregnant women after fetal death or just after delivery.
