Design: A retrospective cohort study.

Participants: All patients referred for PE excluding PE with Frisén grade ≥ 3, optic neuritis, ischemic optic neuropathy, and compressive optic neuropathy.

Unusual gastric localization of an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor: A case report and review of the literature.

Introduction And Importance: Primary inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is a rare subgroup of mesenchymal tumors. Gastric localization is extremely rare, and patients may present with abdominal pain and a palpable abdominal mass. Here, we present a case of gastric inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor revealed by abdominal pain, which was treated with wide local excision.

This study aims to explore the feasibility of introducing, during the manufacture of bakery bread, an enzymatic cocktail coproduced by the fungus Stachybotrys microspora: α-amylases, xylanases and cellulases, using wheat bran as a nutrient source. Optimization of textile effluent bacterial treatment and improvement of the process efficiency through SPB1 biosurfactant addition.

The current work aims to optimize biological textile effluent treatment through the use of newly selected bacterial consortia composed of two strains: Citrobacter sedlakii RI11 and Aeromonas veronii GRI. We assessed the effect of SPB1 biosurfactant addition on color removal (CR). The process was optimized by a Box-Bhenken by examining the effect of pH, consortia density and biosurfactant value on treatment efficiency.

Are biopsies during endoscopic ultrasonography necessary for a suspected esophageal leiomyoma? Is laparoscopy always feasible?

The present letter to the editor is related to the work entitled "Large leiomyoma of lower esophagus diagnosed by endoscopic ultrasonography-fine needle aspiration: A case report." Although endoscopic ultrasonography seems necessary in a suspected leiomyoma of the esophagus, the performance of biopsies fine needle aspiration is controversial as it increases the risk of complications such as bleeding, infection, and intraoperative perforations. Laparoscopy is the best treatment strategy for small tumors.

Predictive factors of bowel necrosis in patients with incarcerated femoral hernia.

Purpose: Intestinal necrosis is a frequent complication in patients with incarcerated femoral hernias (IFH). Knowing the low incidence of IFH, few series with large samples studied predictive factors of intestinal necrosis. The main objectives of our study were to determine the predictive preoperative factors of intestinal necrosis in patients with IFH and to compare its morbidity with that related to incarcerate inguinal hernias (IIH).

5-mFI is more accurate than ASA score in predicting postoperative mortality in rectal cancer: A case series of 109 patients.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of 5-mFI (modified frailty index) to ASA score (American Society of Anesthesiologists score) in predicting postoperative mortality in patients with rectal cancer.

Materials And Methods: The ability of each parameter to predict postoperative mortality was attested in 2 ways: Area under the curve (AUC) was determined using ROC curves analysis. A comparison of AUC was performed using Delong test and Henley-McNeil test.
