Background: Assessment of systemic and local immune responses is crucial in determining the efficacy of cancer interventions. The identification of specific factors that correlate with pathological complete response (pCR) is essential for optimizing treatment decisions.

Methods: In this retrospective study, a total of 521 patients diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma who underwent curative gastrectomy following preoperative treatment were reviewed.

Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals the lineage of malignant epithelial cells and upregulation of TAGLN2 promotes peritoneal metastasis in gastric cancer.

Background: Peritoneal metastasis (PM) is an important factor contributing to poor prognosis in patients with gastric cancer (GC). Transcriptomic sequencing has been used to explore the molecular changes in metastatic cancers, but comparing the bulk RNA-sequencing data between primary tumors and metastases in PM studies is unreasonable due to the small proportion of tumor cells in PM tissues.

Methods: We performed single-cell RNA-sequencing analysis on four gastric adenocarcinoma specimens, including one primary tumor sample (PT), one adjacent nontumoral sample (PN), one peritoneal metastatic sample (MT) and one normal peritoneum sample (MN), from the same patient.

Tumor size and perineural invasion predict outcome of gastric high-grade neuroendocrine neoplasms.

A new subcategory, grade 3 neuroendocrine tumors, is incorporated into the grading system of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms in the 2017 WHO classification in order to differentiate grade 3 neuroendocrine tumors from neuroendocrine carcinomas. The 2019 WHO classification extends the concept of grade 3 neuroendocrine tumors to gastrointestinal high-grade neuroendocrine neoplasms. However, there is still limited study focusing on the gastric grade 3 neuroendocrine tumors and gastric neuroendocrine carcinomas.

Single Purse-String Suture for Reinforcement of Duodenal Stump During Laparoscopic Radical Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer.

Duodenal stump leakage (DSL) is a serious surgical complication after radical gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y or BillrothII reconstruction. This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of laparoscopic single purse-string suture for reinforcement of duodenal stump. A total of 183 patients harboring gastric adenocarcinoma following laparoscopic radical gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y or BillrothIIreconstruction and single purse-string suture for reinforcement of duodenal stump were retrospectively enrolled from Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University (Shanghai, China) between January 2014 and December 2016.
